Rob Reiner and wife found dead

I was legit going to watch "The Draft Dodger" episode of All In The Family later tonight. Will now not be.

This is rough and unfair, no matter how it shakes out.

RIP to both Rob and Michele

Apparently it was his son, I can’t imagine how awful his final moments were, seeing his son end his and his wife’s life like that. Especially knowing that your son is going to now suffer the consequences of his actions and will spend the rest of his life in jail in shame over killing his parents.

Rewatched both Spinal Taps last night. Just horrible. Can't believe this.

RIP

Absolutely wild story. I was just about to watch the Spinal Tap sequel too.

He hadn't made a good movie in quite some time (and I'm not a Princess Bride lover) but Stand By Me was one of my favorites growing up and I rewatched Misery recently and what a masterful film. I'll also always have a soft spot for the Bucket List.

RIP.

So apparently their troubled son Nick was the one that offed them. Reiner's 2015 film Being Charlie about a teenage boy struggling with addiction snd homelessness was based on him. Fucked up.

RIP to both. What a sad, horrible way to go out and it's a shame their son was the one who did it.

Not sure how many of you are on Twitter, but the political right posters (and the bots and foreign instigators posing as the American right) are talking about his politics and how he is in hell and all that garbage. This is what I was talking about with the Charlie Kirk assassination. Which, by the way, Reiner condemned and said was extremely sad, and that no one should have their life taken for their political views.

sick

I'm sure this will be treated the same as anyone who quoted Kirk verbatim.

Is this real? It sounds terrible even for this lunatic

Hell yeah, baby.

Is Trump claiming the son as one of his supporters? Sounds plausible.

this is devastating. Stand By Me is one of my favorite films of all time and meant a lot to me as a kid. Watched All in the Family reruns when they aired on the ABC affiliate here right after school in the early 90s.

RIP

"This is Spinal Tap" may be the funniest movie I've ever seen. Used to quote it endlessly in High School*. Also, the funniest moment in Scorsese's filmography is Reiner getting angry at the phone ringing in "Wolf of Wall Street". RIP king.

*There was a guy in one of my classes who didn't know Spinal Tap was a movie and thought they were a real band lol.

I don’t even process Trump’s comments or social media posts anymore. I know what he’s doing. It’s about enraging critics, gaslighting supporters, and provoking a reaction. That’s the whole act.

Enough said on that. As for Rob Reiner: One of the craziest director resumes ever. Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, A Few Good Men. That range is unreal.

And beyond the filmography, the whole situation is just tragic. His son’s long struggle with addiction was publicly documented years ago, and there were clearly serious psychological issues involved as well. It’s a brutal reminder of how complicated and devastating these family situations can be.

Brutal loss all around.

there is going to be a tribute to Reiner at the Oscars. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal confirmed. Wil Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell have been asked but not Corey Feldman. Corey is upset and has been ranting online. Feldman has multiple sexual harassment allegations against him which has to be why the Academy doesn't want him there
