Rock Band Blitz

Not sure if this'll get enough activity to warrant its own thread, but we'll see.

The basics: Rock Band Blitz is a downloadable title for Xbox 360/XBLA, and PlayStation 3/PSN, costing roughly $15. The game comes with a 25-song soundtrack. Pretty near every song for the Rock Band platform can be played in Blitz, and the title's 25 songs can be played in Rock Band 3.

The game's got a lot of leaderboard competition to it, so if you want to pop in your XBL/PSN user name, and/or Facebook profile to use with the Rock Band World app.

A little ridiculous that that wasn't caught during development. I thought I'd discovered something the first time I played "Upstream" with Runaway Notes, and there was nowhere for them to run to. This is just O_O

The Bottle Rocket is a handy little powerup. Just charge up the overdrive and let them fly. I just got the #24 score in Jessie's Girl.

I usually go with Bandmate as a default for my Overdrive power-up. Sometimes Jackpot, depending on the song.

I did discover that one of my old strategies is ineffective: Deploying Bandmate on your "Super" instrument does not actually get you the Super bonus; you have to actually be playing the part yourself to get the extra points. I'm about 95% sure of this, after I ran through "Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)" with Bandmate playing guitar most of the song, and I only got like 600 points on Super Guitar.

Yep, I just ordered Lego Rock Band just to import the tracks. Only $14.99 at Newegg and I think I still have the save from when I GameFlyed it a few years ago.

I'm pretty sure that'll be another 800MSP to import. I like Lego's soundtrack well enough. I probably play more of its songs than I do the RB3 disc tracks.

Noticed you challenged me to a "Tom Sawyer" Score War. When that popped up, I'd just gotten done with a competitive war with a random guy on the same tune. I was stuck at about 339,000 to his 340,000 for several runs, then finally on the fifth try caught some luck with a Bandmate & Flaming Notes combo. Ended at 387K for what was the #5 score on Xbox. (The Facebook app puts me at #8 overall now.)

It's evidently every song released before Rock Band 3. That should put a dent in my point card stash. I think I counted 26,840 MSP total. That's at least 335 songs. o_o

There's not much clarification on how long the sale lasts. Some people are speculating a week; others are thinking it's a permanent price drop, but they don't want to say so, because that'll obviously put a damper on things.
