Just to avert the Crown Jewel thread becoming the OT for this...

SA is claiming he died after a fist fight and are investigating 18 agents. But they don't mention a body. And they said before that he left alive. They aren't even trying with this.

And the worst part is that the US is going to go all in on helping them with this.

I have a family member who works for General Dynamics which is a massive aerospace and defense company here in Canada and he's been dispatched multiple times over the last couple of years for 2-6 months contracts in Riyadh, he's probably not going to be going over there for a while now with how things are. Can't say I'm mad about that, every time he's over there we get occasional Facebook posts with nice shots in the desert and of the food he's eating but everybody knows that's not the reality of it all.

Yeah... to echo LOTC, my boss was doing 6 month stints in Jeddah at the University and the stories he told over Skype versus the stories he told us once home varied. He keeps in touch with his friends but he's happier for them to visit here instead of vice versa.

They're admitting it was premeditated, but still denying the "kingdom's" involvement: https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/25/middleeast/saudi-turkey-khashoggi-investigation-intl/index.html

Yup, fucking murderers.

"Maybe he did and maybe he didn't," Trump said of the crown prince's knowledge of the killing.

Seriously. Just when I thought I couldn't be any further disgusted with this orange sack of crap.

no fact said:

I honestly can't get anymore disgusted with him. He's a sniveling coward who refuses to stand up to actual tyrants and has a fan base/cult that will excuse every and all things he says or does. Dude could kill a baby in public and nothing would change after that. He's always been like this, and as long as he's president nothing is going to get better.

Not holding the Saudis accountable should be impeachable. His "they maybe didn't" is bullshit. They totally did.

Congress can pass sanctions of their own and even people like Lindsey Graham have said they want to "sanction the hell out of" them.

Turkish sources claiming that the CIA has a wiretap with MBS ordering the hit. If that's true then even if Trump continues to try and obstruct things it will matter even less than already.

The US Senate has advanced a measure to withdraw American support for a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen, in a blow to President Donald Trump.

Many senators are unhappy with Mr Trump's response to the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defence Secretary Jim Mattis had urged senators not to back the motion, saying it would worsen the situation in Yemen.

However, senators voted 63-37 to take forward the bipartisan motion.

While a vote in the U.S. Senate to push forward a War Powers Resolution on Wednesday resulted in applause from peace advocates and critics of the U.S. involvement in the Saudi-led assault on Yemen, five Democrats in the U.S. House stirred outrage as they helped Republicans in the chamber pass a rule—attached to massive Farm Bill legislation—that effectively killed the hopes of voting on its version of the resolution for the remainder of the congressional session.

Fuck these 5 assholes. Meanwhile the senate is doing a bit more:

11 Republicans also voted with the Democrats which even though they won't take the debate up this year and Trump threatened to veto any bill is more than I've come to expect from them.

Go in there with some of that hallowed "law enforcement" and make them do it. Asking any of these suits to follow laws is a fool's errand without the threat of them ending up in solitary somewhere in Louisiana.

A very very modest start.

CXFer most likely to mark out when Johnny Depp teams up with the Paul Brothers to face the Bloodline at one of WWE’s Saudi PLEs?
