I created this thread in honor of Hall & Oates' recent campaign to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and one of my friends posting a Hall & Oates/hip hop mashup on their Facebook wall.

Also check out this awesome, unaired video for "She's Gone". You can tell they were definitely high on consolation during the filming of this.

If neither KISS or my boys Daryl & John inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, I'm going to personally travel to Jann Wenner's house to start a tire fire in his backyard!

If I had to pick a favorite Hall & Oates song, it might be "Family Man." That and "Would?" by Alice in Chains are my go-to karaoke jams.

Dad Rock said:
Yeah, Abandoned Luncheonette is actually one of the best albums.
I've been listening to a lot of '70s Hall & Oates on Spotify lately. Very different/good. "Grounds For Separation" is basically the best song ELO never recorded.

It's baffling that Hall & Oates not only haven't been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but weren't even nominated for induction before this year. One of the top singles acts of the '80s for sure. I know the HOF is a complete charade but c'mon! Most successful duo in pop music history!

Disappointing lack of Hall & Oates' 80s albums on Spotify. Abandoned Luncheonette it is!

Of course, we'll all never forget the time that Hall & Oates appeared on Soul Train in 1982 and ended all racial tension in America.

And yeah, Spotify not having any '80s Hall & Oates albums is what started my '70s H&O kick. I was disappointed that the album they did produced by Todd Rungren and featuring Utopia as the backing band (War Babies) isn't really that good at all.

Yeah, I've heard and not liked those early albums before, which is why I've "settled" with AL. That's a good one, so it could be worse.

Speaking of early 70s albums produced by Todd Rundgren, Spotify does have the first album by Jesse Frederick, the guy best known for later being behind the theme songs of Full House, Perfect Strangers, etc. Kamala, if you haven't listened to it—and I'd be surprised if you haven't—you should check it out. He's kinda like a gruffer Rundgren.
