Expected more from Jean Smart but that’s probably on the writing. Thought Gaffigan was a good Walz.

Pretty forgettable show as a whole. Last two sketches were a struggle to get through for me.

The stunt casting just pisses me off too much to invest right now. Carvey's perfect but let the cast do their shit.

Decided to start watching them all again from the beginning, though. Figure why not. Justify the Cock subscription.

Easy for forget how they didn't get the rhythm until the Candice Bergen show. Once Pryor happens, it's off to the races.

Kinda feels like Nate is going to be an annual host. He’s been pretty good his two times out. I imagine Washington’s Dream is going to return every time he does. Hopefully it doesn’t dip in quality if they keep with it.

Well there were timing issues with the show tonight. Most likely due to the .Ohio
State/Oregon game running long. So they had to air a dress rehearsal sketch to fill out the show. I don't know if that's ever happened before

I know there was a tape issue during an early 90s John Goodman show where a pre tape gag didn't play during the monologue. In re-runs they aired the dress rehearsal

Next week opens with Maya Rudolph belting Leonard Cohen, cancel the show.

I think that kind of hurt her career. That's usually the first thing I see mentioned when people are talking about Kate on SNL. Even though she was pretty great overall as a cast member and was a highlight of some of those seasons from the 2010's.

I'm kinda surprised Kate's film career didn't take off. That horrible movie she did with Mila Kunis seemed to derail it

I thought she was going to be as big as Wiig, Poelher, Fey, and Rudolph, but she made a lot of bad script choices tbh.

Her first major role was 2016 Ghostbusters and after that she did Masterminds, Office Christmas Party, Rough Night, The Spy Who Dumped Me, Bombshell, Yesterday, and The Bubble. Not really a memorable group of movies. She also had that tv show based on Tiger King and Carole Baskin that got bad reviews and was quickly forgotten about. She had a supporting role in Barbie last year, but honestly I didn't think she made Weird Barbie weird enough. I had high hopes for the character, but she really didn't stand out that much.

She's only 40, so there's still time for her to have a good career. But, it's underwhelming imo because I thought she showed more talent on SNL than some of those other great female cast members. It's just not translating to other roles outside of SNL. Maybe she's more of a character actress than a lead.
