Since Brooklyn Zoo is a region racist NYC dickrider, I decided to make this thread to counter-balance his farcical "GOAT" tournament. Here I will post cool songs made by artists from south of the Mason-Dixon line and maybe occasionally write some words about why they are cool. But first, here are some Killer Mike songs, because Killer Mike is better than your favorite rapper.

Killer Mike-That's Life

Killer Mike - God In The Building

Killer Mike - Burn

Still good thread.

Rich Boy - Throw Some D's

Rich Boy - Let's Get This Paper

Unless yr a serious devotee of southern rap you probably remember Rich Boy as "that guy who made 'Throw Some Ds' (if you remember Rich Boy at all), which is a shame. Dude was actually one of the most interesting MCs to pop off the post-Jeezy/TI assembly line in the middle part of last decade. 'Throw Some Ds' is, of course, an absolutely pitch-perfect radio and deserves to live on the annals of great summer jams (I still remember listening to it on an endless loop back in the spring of '07. It's the perfect soundtrack for the post-winter thaw), but 'Let's Get This Paper' is the song that more people need to know. It's brill, mates. Rich Boy contorts his impossibly thick 'bama accent into all sorts of crazy phrasings, attacking Polow's beat with the sort of ferocity demanded by the subject matter. It's an almost awe-inspiring performance, right up there with TI on 'I'm Illy' or Killer Mike on anything in terms of sheer concentrated ferociousness. Respect.

Speaking of TI on 'I'm Illy'

T.I. - I'm illy

This is maybe the single best rapped song of the last five years. Better than everything Wayne's done, better than those Slaughterhouse herbs, better than Gucci, better than Eminem 2.0, better than Ghostface on Fischscale. When TI actually takes the time to sit down write (rather than doing the dumb Jay-Z "compose in yr head" thing like he did on King and TI vs TIP) he might be the best alive. The way he slowly builds the tension by progressively tightening the rhymes and drawing out the phrasing and amplifying his enunciation is just masterful. And the lyrics. Oh man. Shit talk never sounded so good.

This song isn't filled with that hyperbolic gun toting bullshit where some bitch who probably hasn't even pulled a trigger brags about all the bodies on his record; it's just real, gritty truth of what a motherfucking G is. Only in the south do you get this kind of real talk baby.

geto boys unedited version damn it feels good to be a gangsta

If you think this song is ruined because it was popular or used in Office Space then you're a dipshit btw.

T.I. What you know (dirty)

This just popped up on my itunes shuffle. First time I've listened to it in like a year or more. I'd almost forgotten just how damn overwhelmingly confident the whole thing sounds. Swag through the motherfucking ceiling. Impossible to listen to and not feel like you're a goddamn BOSS.

TI - I'm back (Official music video)

What a coincidence. This song came up on my mp3 and I was thinking about how awesome it is. Not only is his swagger off the charts in this song but he spits some truth and maintains his top notch flow and delivery. The beginning of the song is one of the better intros in music in the past 10 years.
