My biggest memory of TRUSTCompany is that they looked/acted more like a mid '00s screamo band than an early '00s butt rock band.

Hey let's talk about mid-00s "emotional rock music"

The brief decadent period when these bands decided to make stadium shaking anthems is, I think, a truly underrated moment in recent musical history.

This band played at my college in the spring of '04. I sure as shit wasn't going to pay to see them, but my friend had National Guard duty that weekend and gave me his ticket. They sucked.

I liked this when I was 16. They performed at my college in '06.

I have a special place for Yellowcard because I used to be into this girl who had a sister that dated one of the members of the band. I was also friends with this girl from another state that banged the same guy when he was touring away from his girlfriend. It makes me feel like I am in the band being so close to the action.

This genre got kind of a bad rap. Granted, I had a lot of friends who played in these type of bands in the mid to late '00s so it might just be the Stockholm Syndrome. I had not one but two friends' bands open up for Hawthorne Heights on separate occasions! Apparently, they were jerks!

I feel like the mainstream's interest with this genre coincided with the period where Blink 182 started ripping off the Cure instead of Green Day and releasing albums where the titles weren't double entendres. Or maybe these were totally unrelated.

Half of this is Pop Punk/Power Pop, not "Emo." I would much rather the poppy/emo stuff over the guyliner scene stuff that became more prominent. Back in my day I partook in a diet of Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Finch, Saves The Day, Jimmy Eat World, At The Drive-In, etc.

Yeah, I'm aware that most of this isn't real emo. This says the guy who had a fan of "real emo" laugh in his face after I called Weezer kind of an emo band.

I liked a lot of this stuff years ago. I'll give Yellowcard one thing, they were very high energy when I saw them. Hawthorne Heights was all studio though. That guy's voice was awful live

I heard this song the other day for the first time in forever. I still like it
