The Beatles: Rock Band

I'm a casual Beatles fan and shouldn't really be the one to start the topic, but this game does warrant a thread.

I spent a few hours playing the game at my friend's house while he was sleeping this morning and afternoon. It was truly a very well crafted experience, and I do emphasize the word experience. I played through the entire story mode (with a few breaks) and gained 135 achievement points out of the deal. I'm impressed enough that I am pretty sure the game will be amongst my Toys R Us B2G1 purchases during next month's sale.

I'm guessing the $249.99 price tag is due more to cover the costs in regards to song licensing than anything else? Or is that par for the course with new release Rock Band installments? I've been a Guitar Hero guy all this time, and Beatles Rock Band is the first one I've considered buying. I'd need the whole band set as just the software would do me no good.

Any information is appreciated.

I think the $250 is for the McCartney bass, the famous drums and a mike stand. And the game. The Lennon and Harrison instruments are sold separately. They have a $150 version that's the game with old Rock Band instruments.

I can see someone who is a big time Beatles fan spending the money but I think it's retarded to spend $250 dollars on the set. My roommate bought the game and it seems to play just the same with the old guitar.

You can get Rock Band 2 sets for $100 at Gamestop. I'd definitely recommend that over the Beatles bundle. You'd still pay less buying the RB2 bundle and Beatles game.

Yeah, unless you're super wild over Beatles stuff, I'd go for the Rock Band 2 bundle + The Beatles: Rock Band software. You get two pretty excellent games that way. Best I can tell, the "Value Bundle" comes with Rock Band 1 instruments, which are kinda balls.

WalMart.com did have the RB2 bundle for $99, but it's back up to $139 now. And a lot of Canadian retailers had it for $100, but most seem to be back up to $160 again.

What's the online play like, in comparison to, say, Guitar Hero: World Tour?

I bought this on the day of release and have played it a ridiculous amount. I've managed to 5* everything on guitar hard apart from Revolution.

I've been suprised at the number of people that until now proved resistant to the idea of playing this type of game that have wanted to play this.
Even people from my office who are 40 something asked me if I was getting it and if they could come and have a go on it sometime.

Is it just me or is the drumming on this game a bit more sensitive than on the others? I say this because my drumming isn't great, but it's passable and I do quite well on regular Rockband, I'm just not doing nearly as well on this.

In addition to the Queen pack for standard Rock Band DLC, Abbey Road is available today for The Beatles: Rock Band. It's a little complicated, so maybe you should just click & read the release.

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169459

There's three singles for "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", "Oh! Darling", and "Because" at $2 each. Or the entire album with some kind of medley, and song sets, for $17/1,360MSP. And all sorts of weirdness for Wii downloads. Also mentions Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) scheduled for release in November, and Rubber Soul (1965) in December.

Also, The Beatles: Rock Band 360 beat out Guitar Hero 5 360 for sales in September, despite one less week availability. So that's neat. (If you're a Harmonix fanboy like me. :D) And Beatles Wii was only a couple thousand behind GH5.

05. The Beatles: Rock Band (Xbox 360) - 254,000
09. Guitar Hero 5 (Xbox 360) - 210,800
10. The Beatles: Rock Band (Wii) - 208,600

I've only just seen AB's post, and I didn't realise that they were going to be releasing whole albums. I'm be all over that, but not until after Christmas, unfortunatly. I've made a promise with myself not to buy anything game/film/music related until after Christmas. I really need to be saving money and I know I'll get a bunch of different bits then anyways.

So what's the deal with HELP! and Yesterday not being included (among others) - Will they be released as DLC one day?

I would have thought that it's so they can released them as DLC.
It makes no sense to put all of the well known songs on the game, just enough to keep people happy, then sell the other ones people will want as extra. It's a bit shitty, but it's good business.

I've spent far too long going for the 350 note streak on Here Comes The Sun achievement. I keep fucking up on the most random stupid notes. I can get a longer streak in any other fucking song...but not the one I have to. And then I got a no lie 349 note streak after all that time.

It almost reduced a grown man to tears.
