In here, we can discuss our favorite old school NES video games to our heart's content. I'll get to some of my favorites in a few minutes. But how about you guys? What are your all-time favorites?

The magic of the original NES TMNT on the TV with a room full of cousins switching controllers each turn will never be replicated.

I might argue that for me personally Mario 2 > Mario 3. Love both.

Heading to the yearly Super Tecmo Bowl tournament in Green Bay in April. It attracts randoms from Denver and beyond. Winner moves on to a bigger tourney, plus cash and prizes. I go to root on my buddy, I'm just a casual.

Anyone here remembers the "Gun Smoke" game for the NES. It wasn't the same Gun Smoke as the famous TV show. It's just a game where you got to take out Bandit Bill and all his henchmen.

My all-time favorite game is Wonderboy in Monsterland for the Master System. Gotta be that port though. The arcade version of it is total shit.

I spend $60 for the strictly limited releases version for the Wonderboy collection just so I could play that one again really.

Those here who know my gaming tastes know I am a big Mega Man enthusiast. Even the later ones which would be considered dull and repetitive by most I would consider among the best games on the console.

I'm not mad at all with anyone who prefers Mario 2 to Mario 3. Might seem like a petty complaint, but the color scheme for Mario 3 does not age well at all. I know it's a 16-bit system but the Mario All-Stars version is a massive improvement in that area.

NES Open Golf and Wario's Woods are more "osbcure" for lack of a better term games that I played the hell out of. Bart vs the World is maybe my biggest guilty pleasure game on the console.

Little Nemo. Dr. Mario. Bubble Bobble.

And yes, you can beat Mike Tyson by decision.

Excite Bike and Super Mario 3 were the go-to staples for me as a kid. I also got hooked hard on Bubble Bobble too.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is an obvious favorite, along with Super Mario Bros. 2. Also a fan of Ninja Gaiden II, Mega Man 3, and an underrated gem known as The Guardian Legend.

Don't forget about the original Mario Bros. game which featured the debut of Luigi. Also, there's the original version of the Lost Levels from Japan.

The NES was my childhood console. I got it in Kindergarten in 1988 at 5 years old. I have so many memories of it growing up and playing with friends.

Some favorites off the top of my head....

Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt -- the first games I played when I got the system...didn't actually beat it till many years later.
Double Dragon series ...especially Double Dragon II
Mega Man series...many a sleep overs were spent playing games in this series after we rented them from the local Giant Eagle.
Super Mario 3 -- The first game I remember my mom going out to Toy Warehouse and getting it on release day for me.
Tecmo Super Bowl -- lots of grudge matches with friends
Ninja Gaiden -- DIdn't beat it until I was an adult, but remember playing it alot as a kid
Battletoads -- See above... I remember playing the hell out of this as a kid...over and over and over.

Games I specifically remember playing at my grandparents...
Tetris -- my grandfather was a beast at this game.
Wheel of Fortune -- My grandma loved this game (along with Jeopardy)
Rad Racer
Roadblasters
RC Pro Am
WCW Wrestling

I could go on and on...the NES Is the most nostalgic system for me from my childhood. I ate up everything that Nintendo did at that age...lunchboxes, nintendo power, bed sheets. Such simpler times.

Other than at cousin's houses I did not get to play the NES as we did not own one. I read Nintendo Power cover to cover at school anyway and have nostalgic feelings for a ton of games I really never played. Once I turned 10 I earned my own money and bought a SNES. I now own 6 of them I believe. Because of the hype for Castlevania, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Mega Man and other NES games, I sought the SNES versions of what was offered to try and capture that magic. Super Mario All Stars was a God send.

TMNT 2: The Arcade Game--liked it much better than the original
Mario 3 You could argue either this or Super Mario World were the best Mario (maybe game period) ever
Zelda 2 I know it's the blacksheep of the Zelda series. But, I prefer platforming games
Adventure Island Not super well known, but a fun little tropical game
California Games Loved skateboarding and surfing
Batman Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?
