Did some searching and didn't see a thread to discuss them, so here it is.

I'll start off with these:

Some of my fondest memories of my childhood revolve around my weekly trips to the now long deceased Home Vision Video where Mom would let me rent a rasslin tape. After I ran through all of the wrestling tapes, I ended up renting that stupid tape where WWF stars circa '94/'95 give us all tips on how to beat Super Nintendo/Sega Genesis games for an hour.

Oh man! I know! The Home Vision Video near my camp in the hellhole known as Jay, Maine had a shitload of real, old school Coliseum Tapes from like '84-'86 and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw all of them clamshells. And this was in like 2002, 2003, which made it more surprising. For some reason, Pops Kamala wouldn't let us rent a tape that day because he was in a hurry or something and just wanted to stick with Leprechaun in the Hood or whatever then recent cheesy direct to video horror movie he was renting. But it was OK because I was sure we'd back there soon and I could watch Bloopers, Bleeps, and Bodyslams and Wrestling's Country Boys but the next time I was there, the wrestling section was whittled down to a handful of Attitude era PPVs amongst the Denise Austin exercise tapes and Dan Severn/Tank Abbott era UFC shows.

What was cool about Coliseum Video was that you got to see a bunch of crazy match ups that you wouldn't have seen anywhere else. While something like Flair/Undertaker isn't too crazy, it was kind of unique in that they really didn't work together in any programs or feuds so something like this was always a treat.

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw Yokozuna vs Earthquake listed on Invasion of the Bodyslammers (One of the most fun CVs ever produced, IMHO).

For me it was Video Towne, before they were overtaken by Blockbuster, and later First Choice Video and Video News. One time when I was 17 I discovered a West Coast Video in Moraine that had a ton of WWF Coliseum and WCW videos I had never seen before. Sadly they went out of business before I could barter with the Manager and buy off the tapes.

Flick Video was a small chain in the Hickory (western Piedmont) area of NC. They specialized in two areas: wrestling videos and horror movies. We loaded up on those every trip and even snuck a Penthouse or a Playboy vid into the pile every so often. I remember they had Canadian Stampede and Wrestlewar '92 and a shit ton of Colisseum videos. I remember when I first got my license I drove up there because they were in the process of converting to DVD and I missed the big sale on their video cassettes by like one week.

Samu vs. Mr. Perfect (UK Rampage 4/11/93)
*bump*

One of my favorite aspects of Coliseum Videos is the random competitive matches between upper mid-card to main event level wrestlers and random tag team matches. Rocker Shawn Michaels Vs Ric Flair (or Rocker Shawn Michaels Vs Ted DiBiase) were better but this was pretty nifty. Usually it made for a good matchup for some reason. Except The Warrior Vs Brian Knobbs match that I guess the world has collectively agreed to forget so maybe I should just smash that shitty one hour long Warrior tape that has it to go along with that order.

Koko B Ware vs Tito Santana
This is probably my current favorite Coliseum exclusive match. Just some excellent heel work from Koko B. Ware. Makes me wish that Vince had actually gone through with an evil Koko angle and turned him into a proto R Truth. Heenan also does a surprisingly excellent job on commentary as opposed to just cracking funny jokes.

The 1994 Bret "The Hitman" Hart Coliseum Video which is on the WWE Network on Peacock is one of my favorites, because it screams WORKRATE from start to finish. Bret had nothing but AWESOME matches in that tape. Bret's work ethic was the best.
