The Gift (2015) is a great overlooked film.

I watched this movie for a second time a few nights ago and liked it even better than when I saw it opening weekend in August 2015. It is a perfectly paced, tense, stomach turning flick with extremely good acting and a believable story to boot. Jason Bateman is one of my favorite actors and he is excellent as Simon. Rebecca Hall gives a powerfully subdued performance as well. Joel Edgerton really steals the show though and gives you a character you aren’t sure if you feel sympathetic for or not. That is good writing. If you haven’t seen it, give it a watch some evening and munch some popcorn

 

[Big Beard Booty Daddy]

I liked this movie a lot when it came out. I haven't seen it since, and I need to rectify that. I remember thinking it was the best Brian DePalma movie that Brian DePalma never made. A really good, intense flick.
