This friday night, it all happens again. My favorite CNN show of the year. The ONLY show on CNN where everyone that works for the company, including Hawk 34's guy, John King, gets to loosen up their ties, sit back and be themselves.

Unfortunately, this year, my mother and I won't be able to make pizza, because my mother's still in the hospital with COVID (and apparently, so do I) and that means that the only pizza I can eat are the ones that I can order out from places like Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut, & Little Caesar's.

I'm gonna TRY to have a good time, regardless. How about you guys?

I hope you enjoy your New Year's.

Do you watch a lot of CNN otherwise?

I'm gonna order Little Caesar's and have that while watching the New Year's Eve special.

Gatorade definitely has its negatives but it is a much better longterm option than Pepsi. I drink a few Gatorade Zeros a week, which have no sugar and still taste pretty good.

Yeah, what Kam said. Gatorade Zero still has vile shit in it.

This ain't the beverage thread in the Food folder!

I also like to watch Tom Foreman host "The Best & Worst of 2021", too.

The average 20-ounce bottle of Gatorade packs 34 grams of sugar and 158 calories.
20 oz pepsi: Total Sugars 69g and 250 calories.
I mean, neither is great if you're just sitting around all day. But Gatorade is the clear winner here.

I was referring more to Gatorade Zero (which has "0" of both), which Epic said had "vile shit" in it

Yeah. I was really just supporting YPOV's point. I guess the "vile shit" is artificial sweetener. Which I'm not personally a big fan of, although I do choose Diet Coke or regular on the rare times I do drink pop.

I've actually spent a fair bit of time over the years trying to figure out whether or not artificial sweeteners are bad for you or not. And honestly, I still don't know, lol. I've never seen a dietician or researcher specifically recommend any of them, but they also never really give reasons as to why they're bad either.

Well, we are already down this rabbit hole so we may as well go further. I don't think there has been any definitive study on what - if anything - artificial sweeteners do to your body. The best I can tell is that they are "empty" and trick your body into believing it has consumed something which may end up making you hungry and looking for food to eat. Considering the alternative is drinking 70g of sugar, I'd say it's a fair trade-off.
