1. When the hell did the show start broadcasting reruns in 16:9 HD?
2. Why did no one tell me?
3. Why are they doing something that makes my 4:3 DVDs obsolete?

Sorry but you need to rephrase that in the form of a "What's the deal with-" question.

I just noticed that yesterday as well; the room my computer's in has a CRT tv, and it struck me as odd being letterboxed. Sure enough, while channel surfing on my HD set today, it was in HD.

Did the HDTV thread survive the board exodus? I meant to put this post there, but, then, I pretty well said fuck it.

To prepare for the eventual Blu-ray release, I guess. Even if that's the case, the 4:3 DVDs aren't necessarily obsolete. You've got the show in its original aspect ratio.

A similar thing happened with The Shield when Sony acquired the rights. They re-released the DVD sets in widescreen, even though 4:3 is Shawn Ryan's preferred ratio for the show.
