The striking seems a bit more fluid than the previous two games. I like how the Rocked state works now. Hopefully, it will be easier to survive when you're rocked. I hated in 2010 how you wouldn't be getting punched at all and the referee would stop the fight, but other times you could obliterate someone and punch them repeatedly and the fight isn't stopped.

The only thing selling me on this game is the inclusion of PRIDE. I'll have to see footage of that before completely writing this one off.

THQ announced the pre order deal. If you pre order, you get Diaz, Mayhem, Stann and Phil Davis. Apparently, people were pissed that this DLC package was called the "Rising Star" package instead of being outraged that these dudes should ALREADY BE IN THE FUCKING GAME.

One of my friends sarcastically compared it to THQ trying to get people to pre order WWE 12 so you can get the DLC package titled "The Champions" where you unlock Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, and Air Boom!

Now I imagine that they are leaving out some UFC guys to include Pride guys and Takayama, Fujita, Don Frye, and Ogawa are in the game.

:)

This game basically comes down to the rotate the analog stick factor. If that's involved in the game, I'll pass. If they move to a more timing based system, I'm all in.

It looks like they are going that route.

I hope Tak and Frye have ridiculous Clinch Strike Defense so they can go ape shit in the Clinch and pulverize each other.

I want Bob Sapp to be in the game and they have him fall down and cry as his KO animation.

UFC Undisputed: "Once again, let's just call it 8 weight classes because nobody seems to get it when we say 7 weight classes + PRIDE. So for all you mathematicians out there, we have 8 weight classes if you're counting PRIDE, and for PRIDE, we have more than any other weight class because many are PRIDE specific fighters plus UFC fighters who fought in PRIDE, but it is their PRIDE model, not just a duplicate with different shorts. The example we used was Chuck Liddell or Rampage, two different models, one PRIDE, one UFC. We watch MMA as much as the hardest core MMA fan out there. The final call on our roster weighs heavily on what the UFC decides, you'd be surprised what we go to bat for this community. 150/8 = average of 18 fighters per weight class. So far, 19 LHW, 16 LH, if you take the average of those numbers you wind up pretty close to 18 =) Some classes have more than others, and DLC will help equalize those numbers, but in the end, the DLC is more about giving us the opportunity to include up and coming fighters WHO WERE NOT ON THE RADAR when we solidified this roster originally for development, at least, not on the radar enough to get the greenlight."

Pride roster needed Takayama and Fujita. Baroni, Don Frye, Bob Sapp, and Soakajew makes up for them.

This has really soured me on fighting games and WWE games too. I don't want to DL a bunch of characters that should already be there. I did it for WWE All-Stars and thought "I never want to do this again. What a load of BS." I'm sure there will be a ton of people for this and WWE 12 that should already be in the game but they leave out just to get you to pay.
I'd think DLC characters should be something out there and special. Like an old school fighter or like MK did with Freddy Krueger.

The demo is available. They've made the fighting system even smoother and the new submission mini-game is ages better than that "shine" bullshit. REALLY like how playing in Pride feels completely different than the UFC.

The demo is fun as hell. I spent probably an hour last night playing as Wandy, just brawling with Rampage. Stomping his face for the KO is more fun than it has any right to be.

Online alpha's not awful either. I've been in about 15 fights and most had no noticeable lag. One turned into a complete slideshow midway through the first round for about a minute, though.

I wasn't planning on buying any more games until Mass Effect 3, but man, this demo is rapidly changing my mind. I haven't heard much on the career mode though, other than the fact there are more varied training minigames.

Pride mode is fucking awesome. Loved having Wandy down on the ground and using Rampage to just drive knees into the side of his head. The Jones/Silva fight is okay. Of note, Silva's jab is deadly and I had way more fun than I should have by using it to bounce Jones' head back and forth. Also, german suplexing someone is wonderful.

And i gave in and got the game. I like the simplistic transitions now if you choose to use them, but i still find carrer a real bitch, especially trying to get my stats up. But im still #1 contended to the heayweight title cause thats how i roll.

THQ has been trying to court the pro fighting game circuit to UFC 3, having shown up at Evo 2011, and at Wednesday Night Fights last week. As someone who is on record as saying UFC 2009 (the last one I played) has trash online play, and that online play is the only thing I care about, how is the online play? As in, what is the latency between button -> action?
