They only had 1 other song that charted in the top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100.... and that other chart topped out at 40 something.

A-Ha's best song was "The Sun Always Shines on TV" which, unfortunately wasn't a hit in America. #1 in the UK though I think.

Similar situation with Frankie Goes To Hollywood. "Two Tribes" and "The Power of Love" are actually decent songs (both hits in Europe) but in America they'll forever be known for the song about ejaculation.

I mostly remember Stacey Q from her recurring character arc on The Facts of Life. Somewhat similarly, I will always associate The Waitresses with the Square Pegs theme song.

Too Shy and Voices Carry are my favorite one hit wonders of the 80s.

I can't believe I missed this show. It came on Tuesday didn't it? Aargh. Hope I can catch a replay.

How the fuck is Ratt not on here?!??!??

"Wanted Man", "I Want a Woman", "Way Cool Jr" and "Nobody Rides For Free" (featured in Point Break!) were also decent MTV/radio hits in their day

What struck me as funny about the list is that on their original 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of All Time list, "Taineted Love" was #2, behind "Macarena". So, it was the second greatest of all time, but the 5th greatest of its own decade?

Awkward.

Well, the VH1.com fans voted for these.

I finally caught most of the show yesterday. Good times, even though I didn't know half the songs. I forgot about "What I Am" (had no idea it was an 80's song), that's a good one.

No Tarzan Boy?!?

If it was fan vote, that explains that. Some of the songs in the Top 10 are more novelty hits than anything that should really be considered "The best of the best." I mean "Mickey?" Come on...

Also, didn't Twisted Sister have another hit with "I Wanna Rock?" The video for that one was actually somewhat memorable, too.

Definitely US-centric, like others pointed out. A-Ha is a pretty good example, like someone else pointed out.

"We're Not Gonna Take It" (WHAT IS THAT? A TWISTER SISTER PIN? ON YOUR UNIFORM?)

All of VH1's "100 Greatest" lists are based on fan votes, so it's not really any kind of excuse when comparing lists.

And yes, "I Wanna Rock" was a hit, but minor enough for them to register as a "one-hit wonder".

Twisted Sister's awful "Leader of the Pack" actually charted higher than "I Wanna Rock".

Different fans voted for it? Fan votes will change a lot more commonly than the same core group of people voting for something constantly, so it can be used as a bit of an excuse.
