I got nostalgic from AVGN latest video:

http://www.orangeslime.com/?p=2061 Kenner 1987: Silverhawks!, Play-Doh! Chuck Norris Karate Commandos! GHOSTBUSTERS~! M.A.S.K.!

Biggest surprise for me was a spirograph set that triggered something in my brain. I may have owned it??

Venkman, do you remember Consumers Distributing?

Sure do. I just told this story to someone else but I'll repeat it here - one of the fondest Christmas memories I have is the fact I didn't get the Ghostbuster's Firehouse for Christmas one year. Instead, I got a "letter from Santa" explaining that he had placed an order with Consumers Distributing and had arranged it so my mother could pick one up there in the very near future. It's a funny Christmas memory in our family.

I had those Mario/Zelda sheets, and the picture of the kid using the Castle Greyskull microphone reminds me of Brad Jones riffing on "Deception of a Generation".

I used to live and die by the Consumers catalogue. All of those item numbers. I remember going to get NES games back in the day and being so excited that they had a given game in stock.

I had the chocolate chip cookie. He didn't really fit in my all my Ninja Turtles, but he got to play an bad cop on the take for Shredder and Evil Donatello.

I had Food Fighters. I had the pancakes, taco, drumstick, ice cream and burger.
I also had one of those stuffed dogs, maybe I had a couple. Not sure.

I LOVED Dino-Riders. I had the first three episodes on VHS and used to wear those tapes out. I had the T-Rex and a bunch of the smaller toys as well. I actually found the first episode on Youtube the other day and watched it with my son. It had all the toy commercials mixed in and he kept telling me he wanted the toys from the commercials for Christmas. If only.....

That was probably right around the year where I saw a Steve Urkel ventriloquist dummy and really really wanted it but thankfully/regrettably my parents didn't grab it.
