I think I'm going to pick this up after work today. It's getting very favorable reviews, clocks in around 28 hours worth of gameplay (4 discs for the 360), and I'm pretty sure it comes with the beta for the new Doom.

Anybody grab this or even play it?

something something metalhead white guy from Massachusetts like nazi game BIG SURPRISE

Really though, this has gotten fantastic reviews and I'm pretty psyched to give it a shot, too. Haven't played a really old-school FPS in ages. It's on my list to order whenever it drops to around $30-$35 on Amazon; I have a little too big of a backlog at the moment to justify getting it right away.

I picked this up on release day. It's fantastic. I'm not even a FPS fan, but yeah this game brings the goods. It has some semblance of a story to follow, but in the end you are still BJ Blazcowics and you are still killing nazi scum just like always.

I'd say the 28 hours is a bit ambitious. Probably a 10-12 hour campaign, maybe 15 hours if you collect everything. Still a blast to play, and it gives you a reason to play through twice based on the choice you make towards the start.

I have like 3 chapters to go... hopefully will finish it up this weekend.

I'm only through the first two chapters but it's a fun game.

Finished this up tonight. Most fun I've had with a FPS in a long time. Just a hella fun game. Hope we get another one, but not so sure after that ending.

Agreed with you on the "most fun" part. That there isn't multiplayer turned out to be a big blessing, as even just the few early chapters I've played have been fantastic

Haven't had nearly as much time to play this as I'd hoped for. I must say, the first level in 1960 has to be one of the most satisfactory shooting sprees I've ever had in one of these games.

Finally had time to get back into this. Man this game gets awesome. I'm about 2/3 through and I love it.

No multiplayer actually makes it appealing to me since I will just never be good enough to compete with the average player on FPS MP.

How long is the campaign? I am seriously thinking I might just go pick this up.

I just picked it up... I have nothing to play. The trial flying mission made me a little motion sick so hopefully the rest isn't as shaky.

This game is a fucking dick. I was blowing through it no problem until the bridge part. What an insane spike in difficulty.

Really? I actually thought that one was easier than a few other parts prior. The London Monitor gave me more trouble than the Gibraltar Bridge did (but I did die a few times). That part plays more like a COD than anything else in the game prior, though, so just be sure to take cover as often as possible.

Also, Gibraltar Bridge is super easy if you have the Lasercraftwerk up to date on upgrades by that point. The scope attachment where you can charge it up for a battery-draining blast takes the robot guards out very, very quickly. There's also the rocket launcher that the SS guards drop which you can pick up and use to weaken them.

The key to it, though, is taking cover and shooting around the corner as often as possible.

I suck at FPS and thought the game was pretty easy.

Are you playing it on normal difficulty? Kick it down a notch if you are having that much trouble.

The London Monitor can be a pain, but once you know the pattern it's not bad. I actually had more trouble with the boss at the very very end. I eventually just spammed him with rockets and beat it that way, but I'm sure there was a better way.

I'm on the last level now. The whole game was easy except that damn bridge I though. Also I had no idea the laser scope could take out the armor guys so easily until Laz posted that.

Just finished this myself. I remember playing Wolfenstein 3D when I was a little one, I think my Wolfensteining has improved tenfold since then.

I'm actually pumped to go back and play the alternate timeline (I went Fergus the first time) and on the hardest difficulty.

Would have liked for that second to last boss fight to be a little longer but that was a great game overall.

I'm playing The Old Blood prequel and have The New Order coming. The game really punishes you for trying to rush through it seems. You can't take much damage before going down.
