So I just got an iPod the other day and tried this whole "going to the gym/running with headphones" on stuff and found that playing some Iron Maiden during the last ten minutes or so in my workout got me finishing pretty strong. I think my heart rate was around 150 or so. I talked to Czech the other day about what he's using these days to jog to and he recommended Afghan Whigs amongst a few other bands which I hadn't heard and was fairly nice to listen to.

What are you guys listening to for working out these days? Recommendations?

On Tuesday, I did a Neil Young twofer of Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and Rust Never Sleeps. Good heavy unsubtle proto-rock on the former, which perfect for summer days.

I can listen to pretty much anything, within reason. Sometimes I listen to Prince. I run hardest when he tells me to work my body like a whore.

I always include my selected listening whenever I log my workouts, if only for my own personal amusement.

I watch CNN whenever I do cardio. Not music, but I had no idea there were so many sexy, sexy ladies on the network these days. I've considered making a thread about it.

80s movie themes which I use very unironically to get me pumped up. Nerdy, but some Japanese music like JAM Project, or select tracks from manly anime are ideal. Typical metal and rap bullshit.

I like listening to various metal bands when I work out, normally Children of Bodom.
