I don't care what anyone says, Hogan/Warrior holds up very well. The crowd is loud the entire match, the booking is perfect, the commentary gives it the perfect feel of a major sporting event and Hogan does a hell of a job carrying a blown up Warrior. Still one of the defining matches in the WWE history.

Nice to see Andre get one last huge reaction. Well deserved.

To this day, I don't understand the Beefcake/Perfect booking. Why job Perfect clean there?

It was to lead to Beefcake challenging (and defeating) Perfect for the IC Title at Summerslam.

Agreed on Hogan/Warrior. I would probably put it as the third best main event in Wrestlemania history (not counting Wrestlemania XX for obvious reasons) behind Taker/Michaels, and Rock/Austin II.

The last four months of jobbing Hennig at house shows had hurt the Mr. Perfect gimmick anyway as even the Aptermags had feature stories on those losses, so it really wasn't as big a deal as you might think. Putting the IC Tite on him and giving him Heenan turned it around in a hurry though.

I just posted my review of this.

Tons of filler on this show, it took me a few days to get through it. I just don't understand why they used some of the wrestlers in the roles they used them in.

Originally it was going to be even "worse" as Hogan was set to beat Genius and Hennig in 2 on 1 matches before most bookings were switched to tag matches with Beefer.

WrestleMania VI prospective matches:
and the Rockers vs. The Powers of Pain. The surprise match features
the champs, Andre and Haku, defending against the Sheepwhackers.
For some reason, the Sheepwhackers are an incredible draw (never
underestimate the stupidity of the public...), so it's quite
expected that the Whackers will take the straps.
Herb Kunze in Jan

Word is strong that Iron Mike Tyson will be a part of WrestleMania VI on
April 1 in Toronto. The question is: will Mike repeat his role as
referee or actually don the tights? For those unaware, Mike Tyson will
be the special guest referee for a Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage title
match on February 23rd at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. The show will
be aired live on NBC in prime time.
Early rumours had Hogan dropping the title to Curt Hennig at the live
Main Event, then rumours switched to the Ultimate Warrior making a heel
turn and taking the title. Once again Vince has surprised everyone by
throwing a wrench into the works. But WrestleMania VI has been dubbed
'the Ultimate Challenge,' which still seems to indicate that the Main
Event will feature Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior. Then again, Vince
may just have released the subtitle to confuse everybody. Certainly, a
Hogan/Tyson match would be the ultimate challenge in many people's books.

Buster Douglas did his part well in the one prediction that Kunze kinda sorta got right.
