Must admit, I'm quite impressed with the AI. I've made a load of CAWs and pitted them against each other in computer-controlled matches and actually got a couple of countout results - once when one guy speared the other through the barricade, and just now via a brainbuster through the announce table. Beats having the other guy down then the computer going back outside to stomp on their head, or something.

The problem with the AI is that sometimes the wrestlers will go onto the floor intentionally and try to put each other through the barricade to create a count out. I wish they had logic settings like the Fire Pro game and that would make for some better simulated matches, but it's alright.

I still have the occasional opponent who keeps countering everything even though I've beaten them down for 10 minutes, but playing around with the sliders has fixed that mostly.

I haven't picked up WWE 13 yet. One thing I'm curious about: Did they make the "selling" better this year? I hated how in WWE 12 you could throw a guy off the Hell in the Cell, do a flying elbow drop onto them, and then they'd get up too quickly and start fighting again like nothing happened.

once they are red, they sell. They will sell getting put through the barricade or getting tossed off the cell for a little bit. If you start the match that way? They aren't going to sell it for long. Once they are red, they will sell though. They can still kick your ass but they will sell.

THQ's bankruptcy, once upon three weeks ago an intimate dinner for two that executives of the bankrupt publisher were hoping for, is turning into a Vegas buffet. Over the weekend, U.S. bankruptcy Judge Mary F. Walrath put the kibosh on THQ's eyebrow-raising quick sale to the private equity firm Clearlake Capital Group, allowing more time for other interested parties to get involved.

The Twitter feed for Distressed Debt Investing has been doing courtroom reporting, noting that the judge has set an auction date of January 22 where THQ assets could be sold individually. It's also been reported that Electronic Arts is now among the bidders. Warner Bros. has also been acknowledged as sniffing around, along with several others.

EA already got a good deal out of THQ in the middle of last year, leveraging THQ's precarious financial situation and taking the UFC license by offering up an "undisclosed cash payment." Warner Bros. has also shown talent in the bargain-basement bankruptcy shopping experience, grabbing Mortal Kombat during Midway's collapse.

Let's not kid ourselves, the fresh shrimp flown in this morning at this THQ buffet is the Saints Row franchise. The latest iteration has shipped 5 million units and the franchise has sold 11 million units. Both EA and WB's portfolios are missing an established sandbox crime game – the bonus being if they get a new Saints Row delivered this year on a platter.

I'm not sure if the WWE License is a part of this auction or not.. but if it isn't and the license just becomes a "free agent" again.. I have to wonder if Vince and Co. wouldn't just become their own game publisher. I doubt they'd go as far as becoming an actual development studio, but I could see them opening up their own publishing arm of the company. They certainly have the money for it.

Do you think this would be better or worse for the series?

If they did open their own publishing arm, would they have to bid against EA et al. to buy their own license?
Beyond that, I really don't see them doing it. Starting a network as it is already has proved to be far more difficult than they thought and they have years of experience producing television shows; creating their own publishing arm solely for one game that sells well enough to sell the license out to the highest bidder when they have zero game experience sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

As far as the license goes, THQ apparently owes them $45mil, so I could see that being a part of some settlement for WWE as a creditor if it came to that.

Apologies if it is common knowledge as I just found out, the next WWE 13 DLC will be available Monday at 5 PM EST. So ready to Sandow.
Apparently it's not out until Tuesday now.

I like how Loose Cannon Brian Pillman does Air Pillman as his finisher and keeps flashing 4 fingers. To clarify, that's not sarcasm - I have no idea what WWF Pillman's finisher would even be (a springboard suplex?)

I can't honestly remember him winning a match without cheating, though I'm sure he had a squash or two on Superstars or Jakked or Metal. I feel like he would have used either a bulldog or DDT as a finisher.

When I was a kid remember getting a Pillman action figure after he died and asking my friends what his finisher was and no one knew

I always used a rollup with the feet on the ropes as Action Figure Loose Cannon Pillman's finisher. I remember real Pillman using a sunset flip with tight pull as a finish once.

His WWF finisher was a neckbreaker. I only know this because I watched him win a match with him against a jobber (and I can't find a link) and when I was a kid my older brother told me his finisher was "some goofy looking neckbreaker."

I could be completely wrong, but I seem to remember seeing Pillman win a squash using a heart punch at one point.

I think Crash Holly used an Air Raid Crash at one point. Also:
