Figured this had some good discussion/interest over in the Music Folder and would be neat to see what some of you have film wise so let's do it! Some of my list is kinda schlocky and the order is more based on re-watchability than anything else.

Harley's Top 20 Favorite Movies
#1: The Fifth Element. May be the only movie on my list that I literally have to watch regardless of what channel/where it is in the movie.
#2: Addams Family Values. May be closer to a 1B but I can still scroll past it at times.
#3: Leon the Professional
#4: Jurassic Park
#5: Shock Treatment
#6: Silence of the Lambs
#7: Batman Returns. Prince can suck my dick, this is where I officially crushed on Michelle Pfeiffer and would watch anything she's in.
#8: Se7en. Just a brilliant movie and something I can re-watch over and over despite the cold brutality of it all.
#9: The Mighty Ducks
#10: Hocus Pocus. I will never, ever tire of this movie and I have far better fare in my collection but this is a must watch for me regardless of the season.
#11: Rookie of the Year. I like The Sandlot and Major League more... but I re-watch this far more than those movies. I've probably memorized more scenes from this movie than is healthy.
#12: Terminator 2: Judgement Day. A classic and the T-1000 was one of the coolest villains I ever saw as a kid.
#13: Gremlins 2: The New Batch
#14: Frozen (Animated). Frozen 2 may be jaw-dropping in its animation (worth owning a 4K TV for it) but Frozen was just fun.
#15: The Little Mermaid. Really close consideration was Zootopia but this movie's been a staple since my childhood. My sister and I even owned the large clamshell VHS of it.
#16: Heavyweights. It's all about Ben Stiller in this role and it edges out Happy Gilmore for me.
#17: Cabin In the Woods
#18: Child's Play 2. This is my favorite in the series and I've watched it at least 10+ times throughout my life.
#19: Glory. I don't re-watch this too often but compared to stuff like Amistad, Schindler's List, or Amadeus I find myelf throwing this one in far more and it never grows old.
#20: Neon Demon. Been my jam since I saw it in theaters and I can watch it a lot.

A whole bunch of obvious movies just missed (mostly Disney ala Lion King, Aladdin, Wall-E, etc.) alongside all the horror fare for the most part. This list could probably change with the way the wind blows for me beyond the Top 8 probably.

This is a really good question, I am just awful at coming up with answers to lists like this these days. Back in the day as a child when I called Independence Day the greatest movie of all-time and watched regularly, I probably could've come up with this. Problem is a lot of stuff that I loved like that back then I haven't re-watched in decades now, which would make me overthink putting something together. Have to see if I can come up with something to contribute here.

I can't really order them, and in many cases I haven't seen these movies in a very long time.

The Godfather - Duh, this is the pinnacle of an entire genre
The Godfather II - A pinnacle somehow surpassed by this movie
Goodfellas - The best movie featuring narration in the history of this planet
The Revenant - Survival movies usually do a lot wrong, but this was great and I appreciated how long the film was.
The Departed - Martin_Sheen.gif
No Country for Old Men - Not sure I have to explain this one.
Pulp Fiction - I would post a video here, but the Christopher Walken monologue was the cherry on top as far as this movie goes. You also have Bruce Willis with a samurai sword.
Die Hard with a Vengeance - Speaking of Bruce Willis.
Se7en - I think you now see what kinds of movies I like.
Children of Men - This movie has the best cinematography like, ever.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - I have never laughed so many times in a theater.
Good Time - You shouldn't be surprised by this either.
Gangs of New York - See above.
Casino - See above the above.
Cheech in Chong's Up in Smoke - Some of you probably knew I would put this on here, but my dad loves this movie and I've seen it around 100 times. I still love it.
Terminator 2 - Is there anyone who WON'T list this.
Glengarry Glen Ross - ALWAYS BE CLOSING
Do the Right Thing - There's a lot of stuff here that I want to quote, but I'm not going to.
The Shining - I always felt that this movie showed the proper way to do a slow build.
Total Recall -

So I have watched a lot of movies. People who know me IRL use me at times to figure out movies because I tend to know stuff on a lot of movies I haven't seen, so I can be regarded as a movie guy - though I feel like I've let my status slip in recent years.

Despite this, there are some major, major movies I have never seen and Terminator 2 is one of them. The sad thing is I think I have seen 1, 3 and 4, so I have no real excuse. I probably need to remedy this soon but I know this is one a ton of people my age have nostalgia for that even if I see and enjoy, I will never have that.

i could understand not watching it because there are so many great movies that it's hard to watch them all. But someone who watched 3 and 4 having not watched it, for some reason I find that hilarious.

I think that’s the problem. I never had see them when 3 came out. I tried watching before going with friends but only had time to see 1. Never circled back to 2 and again went to the theater with friends for 4 also.

So it’s dumb but I get myself into that because I’m not too fussy. I went and saw Two Towers back in the day without seeing Fellowship first so that was a confusing three hours.

The top 5 is pretty solid and even a little interchangeable, depending on which I've watched most recently. After that, the remaining top 15 are mostly in no particular order, and the last five could probably be switched out with deeper thought.

Bumping this thread after 5 years as my list has definitely changed over the past couple years... Mainly ranked on most re-watches for me at least through the Top 8. I kind of cheated a few times but I couldn't cut them from the list tbh.

#1: The Fifth Element. Still far & away my #1. I've literally watched this 3x on 3 different channels just because it was on.
#2: Jurassic Park. Quickly climbed up as one that I constantly watch regardless of when it's on.
#3: Addams Family Values. I watched it on back to back nights during my Halloween run. Pinnacle peak comedy for me.
#4: The Silence of the Lambs. I've re-watched this a ton and it always holds up. Kickstarted my love of anything Jodie Foster.
#5: Batman Returns. Remains my favorite of the Batman Franchise and Michelle Pfeiffer is still great.
#6: Leon The Professional. One of the early movies that cemented my love for anything Luc Besson with one of my favorite Gary Oldman performances.
#7: Frozen/Zootopia. A quick riser on the latter but I love the Judy/Nick scenes and the animation is just gorgeous (the jungle chase is legitimately my favorite animated scene of all-time) and I love the characters & songs from Frozen so much. To me both are up there with the classic late 80s/90s Disney movies.
#8: Se7en. A fantastic movie in a gritty thriller/crime drama. Underrated in how influential it's been in the decades that followed.
#9: Jaws. This is one I've found myself re-watching a ton more and gaining an appreciation every time I re-watch it.
#10: Shock Treatment. As batshit and off the wall as this is, I prefer it to RHPS and Jessica Harper as Janet Majors was an early crush of mine. I can visualize probably 80% of the movie in my head alone.
#11: The Mighty Ducks. May be my favorite sports movie ever... Emilio Estevez is great and this birthed my love of the underdog rag-tag team in sports genre.
#12: The Little Mermaid/The Lion King. Another where I can't really separate them from one another. I adore TLM but the animation of TLK is breathtaking.
#13: Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Just an iconic movie with one of the best movie villains of all-time.
#14: Coraline. One of those animated movies that just hits me right from the design to the characters to the animation.
#15: Child's Play 2. My favorite of the entire franchise with one of the most unique end set designs ever.
#16: Final Destination. Just such a good little horror movie and one I catch a lot on TV when it's on. There's better horror out there but I re-watch this more.
#17: Neon Demon/The Favourite. I adore the score of the first and love it more than most whereas the latter is just so well shot and I love the interplay between all of the characters.
#18: Sinister. One of those recent horror movies that I just watch whenever it's on and never get tired of. Ethan Hawke is great and the deaths are so memorable.
#19: Poor Things. Much like The Favourite this is just an incredible mixture of acting/set design/things right up my alley.
#20: Back To the Future. I've always really liked this but felt others loved this way more than I did. As I've re-watched it more, I've come around to how much of a classic this one is.

Some that just missed: Aliens; The Usual Suspects; Wall-E; Logan; To Kill a Mockingbird; The Shawshank Redemption; Rookie of the Year/Major League
