2017 NFL Offseason
« on: January 06, 2017, 06:49:25 AM »
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Bills are actually going to move on from Tyrod Taylor.

Quote
Buffalo is instead planning to move on from Taylor, despite the fact that their scoring has increased dramatically since he arrived. The year before he got to Buffalo, the Bills were 26th, and they've been 10th and 11th in the two years he has started. He's clearly a huge part of the difference.

He also was seventh in Total QBR last season, and ninth in 2016. People in that company get major dollars.

Like seriously, what.

Let the Bills be the Bills. I seriously hope he catches on with a decent team and makes the playoffs ASAP. Fucking joke.

So they're just going to eat the guaranteed money on his contract?

Rumblings that the Baltimore Ravens plan to move on from DE/OLB Elvis Dumervil this offseason, letting him enter free agency.

Bills dumping Taylor would be the dumbest front office decision I've seen in the NFL since the Niners got rid of Harbaugh.  They were 12th in the league in scoring last year and 10th this year (tied with the Steelers).

The only QBs that led higher scoring offenses this year than Taylor were Rivers, Luck, Carr, Palmer (that one surprised me), Dak, Rodgers, Brees, Brady, and Ryan.  That's good company to be in.

Tyrod would make gigantic money on the open market, I think. Jets, Bears, Browns, Niners, and Texans would all be certainly be very interested.

Redskins signed NT Phil Taylor to a reserve/future contract. Been injured the last couple years but has upside as a stash if he's healthy as a 3-4 run plugging NT.

'Skins fired the entire defensive staff. Good.  Their first order of business will be figuring out what they are doing with Cousins. I have a gut feeling he is either getting tagged again or is going to be allowed to walk to whatever team in desperate need throws him the most absurd amount of money.  His interviews since throwing the game-sealing pick seem to be deliberately mum about any actual desire to return to DC and more about the "out of my hands now" and "responsibility to the players that come after me" nonsense.

Seems like Wade Phillips and Gregg Williams are the leading names for D-coordinator. They have a lot of work to do.

If they cut him by March, they don't owe him anything more.  The contract they negotiated with him was super team-friendly, which is the only thing enabling to make this idiotic move.

He'll probably get $50M guaranteed in Chicago or San Francisco.  Bills gonna Bill.

Some team isn't paying Tyrod Taylor 50m guaranteed after the Osweiler fiasco.

Taylor is like Jason Campbell: solid and may flash greatness, but you wouldn't hesitate to upgrade once something better comes along

There ain't ever anything better that comes along. He's probably the best free agent QB since Peyton was released. Sad state of the NFL there.

Keep drafting a QB until you find one. There is no quick fix.

Also how often does a team get fixed via Free Agent QB? Almost every good/great NFL team drafted their QB.

My Raiders wishlist for offseason:

New defensive coordinator
Pass rushing interior lineman
Middle Linebacker
Right Tackle
Outside linebacker
Tight end

Don't think there are a lot of holes to fill. A solid defensive coordinator would work wonders. I think the offense is fine for the most part. Would like to get younger on the line and find another weapon for Carr.

NY Giants signed WR Kevin Norwood, QB Keith Wenning, OL Adam Gettis, OG Jon Halapio, and RB Jacob Huesman to reserve/future contracts.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000773952/article/raiders-to-file-relocation-papers-to-move-from-oakland-to-vegas?campaign=Twitter_atn

Quote
The Raiders will file relocation papers to move from Oakland to Las Vegas, according to sources familiar with their thinking. After a year of planning, debate, and bold action, after many years of a sub-par stadium option in Oakland, the Raiders have made a firm decision on their future.

The stunning move, one that should be made official in the coming days, is expected to add a new city to the NFL's ever-changing landscape. The Raiders would need 24 votes from the league's owners to formally make the move, a vote that will come this spring.

The city of Oakland has made no progress to keep the team, sources say. It has not come up with a stadium proposal that league or independent sources believe is credible. At this point, it is only a matter of time before they officially leave.

Yeah but not for two years apparently. Will be glad to have my team three hours away. Can get to one game there and the game against the Chargers every year.

He's not trolling, he hates minorities. I saw a post on the old board where he was whining about being around Mexican people so his comments are perfectly in line with that.

I only care about safety in our community. Sadly, the overwhelming amount of violent crime in LA is committed by Raider fans-a tough subject-must be discussed.

After losing to the Patriots in Saturday's Divisional Round game at Foxboro, Vince Wilfork said, "I think I have played my last NFL football game."

As a Patriots fan, this guy was fun as hell to watch be a 350 pound beast in the middle often clogging up 2 blockers and still disrupting plays. Gonna be sad when he officially retires. Hoping he can lose some weight and get healthier after retiring though.

There you go again, trying to let white Raider fans slide. We all know they're the most dangerous. And the worst cosplayers.
