He was too busy working on the Porky's remake.

Reb Brown is the only true Captain America, by the way.

I always feel like The Rocketeer doesn't get as much love/acknowledgment as being a solid superhero movie as it should. Blade made about $36 Million more (adjusted for inflation) but also played in far more theaters and got another $61 Million from the international market.

2004's The Punisher with Thomas Jayne was fine and also tends to kind of get slept on a bit. Considering the character and time, I feel like this was the best treatment that character would've gotten in that time period. Again, adjusted for inflation it made almost $50 Million domestically, which would've put it in the Top 35 of last year's movies.

I like X2 fine and I'd put it over a number of MCU movies but I don't think it holds up that well. All the non Wolverine stuff aside from some of the early Magneto in prison material is pretty uninteresting or out right bad. The Cyclops/Jean and Rogue/Iceman stuff continued to be awful. I'd put it above the most recent Marvel movies but not in the top half probably.

It all begins and ends with the Tim Burton Batman to me. Jack as the Joker is still the biggest example of legit acting royalty/starpower getting into the comic movie genre. Plus Vicki Vale, that guy playing Alfred and Keaton proving all the haters wrong. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it but I loved Burton’s gloomy, ethereal vision. The plot was really interesting from what I remember too.

It holds up for the major parts you remember off the top of your head, but it'll become apparent that Burton was still young in how he centers nearly every dialogue/monologue scene.

Additional hot take: the score is better for the Scumacher movies than the Burton ones, disregarding the theme.

He was so good that he outlived the Burton/Schumacher era itself. He was playing Alfred in OnStar commercials until a few years before the Nolan movies started.
Michael Goch I believe. I also knew him from some of the horror films he was in ("Horror of Dracula" and "Horror Hospital" in particular). He was also in Burton's "Sleepy Hollow".

The 89 "Punisher" movie is a fun dumb action movie, with one ridiculous moment standing out

Just absolutely destroying a casino. Always brings a smile to my face.

Someone in the vintage movie posters Facebook group I'm in that says he worked for Cannon says that they were pushing this as still totally happening as late as 1990.
Superman V.jpeg

I wonder which super 1990 celebrity Cannon would have cast in this? Joey McIntyre is The Daily Planet's new intern! Film is 75% reused footage from The Quest for Peace.
