Saturday Night Live: The Road to Season 50

I will watch my girl Natasha if it was Crazytown

I'm surprised she hasn't hosted sooner. She seems like such an obvious choice IMO (see also: Alison Brie and Aubrey Plaza, or Nick Offerman if we're talking men)

Per Variety Pete Davidson is leaving the show.

I hope a bunch more of the "senioritis" cast leaves as well.

Does anyone legit like Bowen Yang? I know if I asked on Twitter I’d get dragged to the ends of the earth, but I don’t think I’ve liked a cast member less in at least a decade.

Does anyone legit like Bowen Yang?
Well, like you said, people on Twitter. I feel like my comic friends are divided 50/50 between "He's one of the best castmembers!" and "He's TERRIBLE!". I'm the annoying guy who thinks he's just OK.

I'm kind of concerned that SNL's going back to the early-mid '90s days of having a bunch of one note cast members who do 1-2 things and then are horribly out of place in everyday roles.

Yeah, I'm in the boat that thinks Yang is just ok. It's great to have a cast member with a more LGBT lens but he doesn't do it for me like some others. Mikey Day, Alex Moffat (and Beck Bennett when he was around) are all interchangeable to me. Pete Davidson wasn't great but he at least stood out.

I miss the search function. Did anyone else watch the new Kids in the Hall season on Prime? Thought it was way more miss than hit, but it was nice to see the guys again.

Although seeing Kevin McDonald’s dick wasn’t on my 2022 bingo card.

Listened to a bit of last week's John Mulaney episode before bed and of course, Mulaney wanted to talk about Dana Carvey working with Mickey Rooney. Apparently, Mickey Rooney walked around with a gun very obviously displayed and talked about going to visit Juan Corona in prison and plugging him. FIVE STAR PODCAST!

@Valeyard , it’s day we have been waiting for. Ellen Cleghorne is on Dana Carvey and David Spade’s podcast this week.
Started listening to this on my lunch break and Ellen claims that she was paid $245 an episode during her first season at SNL. For comparison's sake, Dana and David said they made $4500 a week as new castmembers.

Maybe Lorne does hate black women!

Variety reporting Alex Moffat, Melissa Villasenor and Aristotle Athari are leaving the show.

This will be the biggest cast turnover in 27 years so I'm kinda excited about the new season. But... this isn't the .Lorne from 1995 and he's pushing 80 years old so realistically I don't expect much change.

Another cast overhaul on the eve of season 51.

Heidi Garner, Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow and Emil Wakim are all gone.

Always liked Walker, but it’s like they forgot about him this season outside of Eric Adams sketches.

Heidi has been a main eventer on the show her entire time. That’s a big loss.

Seemed like everyone likes Longfellow. No idea why that didn’t work out.

Little surprised Emil didn’t get more time.

writers Celeste Yim and RoseBud Baker have also left the show

really hope they change Update. Che and Jost have been doing it for 11 years

shocked about Longfellow. Will miss Heidi.
