Living In Reality: 2/6/14

The Real World

After the initial shock of the original roommates seeing their exes in the house, they passed it off as them just visiting for a bit. When they learned they would be staying the remaining six weeks, a collective “OH MY GOD” broke out.

Arielle was happy to have her ex around, the others, not so much. Jamie was let off the hook with her ex Cameron not being there initially. She figured either he was busy on tour with his band or just didn’t want to come. Turns out, it was a little bit of both.

Most of this episode revolved around two things: 1. The exes getting reacquainted. 2. Everyone sizing up the “competition”. Jamie was definitely not impressed with Hailey. Hailey seemed taken aback that Thomas was with someone the complete opposite of her. The tension between Brian and Cory started out high from the jump as both were eying each other. Cory quickly moved on though by hopping into the shower with his ex Lauren.

The Jamie/Thomas/Hailey love triangle is the most combative at the moment. Jamie believes Hailey isn’t as innocent as she lets on. Thomas knows Hailey still has feelings for him, but possibly doesn’t know that she may make a move in on him.

One of the main problems is that everyone feels restrained by their exes being around. No one is comfortable with anyone flirting or hooking up with other people, even though most of the people aren’t currently in a committed relationship.

The Real World is taking a week off, but based on the previews, the second half of the season is going to pop off in a huge way. Explosive fights, backstabbing, even a possible pregnancy!

Aftershow

Nessa is hosting again, with Cory, Lauren, Jenny, Brian, Thomas, Jamie, and Hailey onstage to start. They started out discussing Jenny’s relationships. Nessa put her on the spot big time asking her who was better in bed. Jenny answered with Cory in a roundabout way.

They also addressed Thomas’ predicament. There was still no love lost between Jamie and Hailey. Nessa called Thomas out for not letting Hailey know about his relationship beforehand. In fact, Nessa was in rare form as she teased Jamie’s ex Cameron coming out. It was a joke, however.

More talk about the Brian/Jenny/Cory/Lauren quadrangle commenced. Brian still felt humiliated about the situation while Lauren felt less bad about it. Arielle came on with the rest of the original cast to discuss the initial chaos of the exes moving in. They showed a sneak peak of the next episode with Jenny wielding a knife towards Brian (she was a good distance away from him, to be fair). But yeah, that’s definitely an indicator of the ensuing craziness for the rest of this season.
