Picking back up from the previous episode, Jocasta was beside herself as Donny saved her with the power of veto. Meanwhile, Caleb knew he was taking a big gamble by putting himself on the block, but knew it would be worth it if it got Devin out of the house. He also sacrificed himself for Amber in the process in the hopes that she finally falls for him. But Amber is still resisting his advances.
Caleb’s obsession with Amber is causing him to fall out of favor with his former allies. The others are worried that he will do whatever it takes to get him and Amber to the end. Cody in particular doesn’t like that Caleb is jealous of his relationship with Amber.
Cody talked to Donny, Derrick, and Zach about possibly getting rid of Caleb. They threw out the idea to Frankie and Christine as well. They figured Caleb’s Amber complex coupled with the fact he was a strong competitor were compelling reasons to consider evicting him. Devin could always be dealt with later.
Elsewhere in the house, Hayden was finally starting to bond more with Nicole. Speaking of bonding, Devin and Cody did just that as well. Devin was hoping to make amends with the rest of the house to save himself. The other house-guests acknowledged that he was a good guy at heart but still didn’t think they could trust him.
A new segment took place as Jeff Schroeder from BB11 went down south to meet up with Donny’s family and friends. Donny’s parents admitted that they didn’t always watch their son on TV. Donny’s dad just liked to watch old shows like Gunsmoke and Bonanza. They were taken aback when saw that Donny was dresses differently (mainly, the shorts). They said he always wanted to be in the military and was raised to be a positive person.
Julie announced to the house-guests that there would be no have-nots this coming week. However, she told the audience a new wrinkle in the house where the new have-nots would picked be based on their activity levels Big Brother has been monitoring.
When the live eviction ceremony came to pass, the Caleb speculation turned out to be a bunch of nothing. In the end, the sentiment against Devin was too strong, as all 11 voters picked him to be evicted from the Big Brother house.
Devin exited the house and went on stage to speak with Julie. He was not surprised that he got zero support to stay. He talked about getting paranoid when he was HOH, and that was why he blew the Bomb Squad up. Devin had mixed emotions during the game because he wanted to play with integrity but found it hard to do so. He did learn that Donny was indeed a groundskeeper and not some secret agent or ex-military guy.
The next HOH contest was called “Deviled Eggs” The random duos selected were Victoria/Christine, Caleb/Nicole, Brittany/Jocasta, Amber/Zach, Donny/Hayden, and Cody/Frankie. Each pair was locked inside a cage. There, they had to maneuver 12 eggs safely to a slot to win. Chicken wire separated the eggs from the players, so they only had their fingers to use during the competition. Later on, “ashes” fell from the sky to make things harder.
In a bit of an amusing moment, the CBS broadcast ran out of time in the middle of the contest. Amber/Zach and Cody/Frankie were the only ones to get any eggs to the end, and it was only one apiece. So, anyone who wanted to learn who the winners were that night had to tune into the live feeds. After awhile, the winners and new HOHs were Cody and Frankie.
