The Detonators objective for the week is to eliminate Nicole. Unfortunately for Christine, her own alliance is using her as a pawn to accomplish that goal. Even worse, some people are gunning for her. Derrick is secretly one of those people who would rather see Nicole stay over Christine. When Nicole started crying again over her woes, Derrick was there to console her and encourage her to win the veto.
Caleb was set on making Victoria the replacement nominee if Nicole won the veto. In that case, Victoria would be sent home. Derrick didn’t want that to happen either, so he planted the seed to Caleb and Cody about Christine targeting them if she stayed in the house and won the next HOH.
Nicole had become close to Victoria recently. She needed anyone she could get on her side, but had doubts about Victoria being any real help to her. Meanwhile, Derrick continued to manipulate the other houseguests to his advantage. He stroked Caleb’s ego to try and draw him away from Frankie. Derrick also painted himself as less of a threat in the house than the others.
Christine was irritated that she continually was the low person on the Detonators and Bomb Squad’s totem pole. But she put on her happy face and continued to play nice with her alliance. The plan (at least for the majority of the alliance) remained evicting Nicole, with Victoria as the back-up if things went awry.
For the next veto competition, everyone played except Frankie. Everyone was still banged up from the previous HOH competition except Cody, so perhaps he would have an advantage. It was not to be however, as this game was more of a mental challenge than a physical one. In “BB Blast”, players were shown a sequence of wires in each round. Then, everyone was asked to cut a specific wire. Wrong answers eliminated players until there was a sole winner.
Cody was the first person to cut the wrong wire and get blasted out of the game. As punishment for being the first one out, he had to wear a dinosaur costume for a week. A few more rounds passed, and down went Caleb and Victoria. The final three were Nicole, Derrick, and Christine.
Derrick had a bit of a dilemma. He was planning on throwing the mission so Nicole would win (and keep himself off the radar). But he also didn’t want to risk having Christine win. Derrick finally decided to bow out, but his plan backfired when Nicole cut the wrong wire and Christine cut the right one in the same round. Christine won the power of veto, giving her the right to save herself.
After the competition, Frankie went over to Christine and whispered something to her. Caleb noticed it and didn’t like it one bit. Caleb and Cody were souring on Frankie as of late, and this didn’t help matters. They once again talked about the possibility of backdooring Frankie. Derrick tried turning the focus back on Nicole, noting that she would target them if she stayed. But Cody and Caleb weren’t so sure that Frankie wouldn’t do the same thing.
After Christine used the veto on herself, Caleb stuck to the original plan and nominated Victoria. Caleb weighed Frankie’s pros and cons, and decided he had enough trust in him. Nicole was disappointed that Caleb didn’t man up and make a big move. This was probably the worst-case scenario for her, as Victoria could easily be kept around as another pawn for the Detonators. Barring a seismic shift in loyalties, there was no reason for the rest of the house to keep Nicole around. With another double eviction coming up, the big move could finally come. But, there’s still enough people left to make it predictable as well.
