WWE NXT – 07/10/2013

Another edition of NXT is here!

This week, we open with the Women’s Championship Tournament match graphic and Summer Rae is making her way to the ring.  This could go on for the next hour and it will still be an amazing show.

Phillips and Maddox in the booth this week.

The bubbles and bad techno start up and her comes Emma and her “dance” on the way to the ring.

NXT Women’s Championship Tournament – Semi-Finals

Summer Rae vs. Emma

Summer is in the ring disgusted as Emma dances and pulls her way into the ring.  The bell rings and the two Divas circle off.

A hard grapple leads to Emma pushing Summer in the corner, only for a reversal and a break.  Summer Rae smashes Emma into the corner and throws her to the mat as the announcers emphasize Summer felt the need for the tournament insulting, as she should’ve been crowned the champion as the “First Lady of NXT”.

Summer chokes Emma in the ropes as the crowd chants in hopes of the Australian to rally.

The commentary team compares the dance moves as Summer snaps off a nice suplex.  Maddox points out that Summer Rae is the better dancer and wrestler and that certainly isn’t heel mic work.  Summer Rae is pretty entertaining in the ring, so hopefully her role beside Fandango will expand sooner rather than later.  She is probably better than the bulk of the main roster Divas in the ring already.

Summer works over Emma’s dancing arm to no avail.  Emma breaks free but Summer wraps her back up in a chinlock.  Emma gets to her feet and breaks away.  Emma runs Summer into the corner and manage a roll-up for a two count.

Summer is downed in the corner and Emma runs across the ring for a splash and another near fall.

As the two struggle, Summer delivers a kick to the gut before a seesaw exchange of roll-ups.  Before we know it, Emma actually pulls off a three count in the biggest upset of the tournament!

Winner: Emma

Emma dances in celebration before Summer Rae starts pummeling her.  It seemed so likely to have Summer Rae vs. Paige as the final for the first champion but Emma is getting the nod with Summer more on the main roster these days.

Paige comes in for the save and as Summer leaves, Emma and Paige stand off in the ring before Emma dances a little more.

A match graphic appears for the main event six-man tag of Corey Graves, Adrian Neville and William Regal vs. The Wyatt Family.

Sami Zayn vs. Leo Kruger is also advertised as being next. As two of the more recent debuts, it should be interesting to watch this one play out.

Bayley is backstage telling Dusty Rhodes how amazing his ring is being shiny with the WWE logo on it.  They play up Bayley’s five-year old mentality but she gets super excited when the Nature Boy walks into the ring.  Ric Flair introduces Dusty to Flair’s daughter, Charlotte, slated to make her debut next week.  Bayley offers to be her first opponent and we have Bayley vs. Charlotte set for next week.  After the match is confirmed, Bayley begs Naitch to let out a WOO.  Ric starts to walk away before complying.

Sami Zayn makes his way out to the ring, much to the crowd’s delight.

Kruger starts to make his special entrance but the OLE chants of the crowd break over any consideration for the South African Superstar.

Sami Zayn vs. Leo Kruger

As Sami tries to start the match, Leo attempts to play some mind games.

Zayn uses his speed for a quick roll up, making Kruger briefly lose his smile.  Maddox acknowledges the Ole chants, saying the WWE Universe is confused as Zayn is Canadian. During all of this, Zayn controls the match as Kruger stalls and holds back.

Zayn goes for some corner punches before receiving an atomic drop.  As he tries to regain composure, he kicks Kruger in the face.  Kruger scuttles out of the ring.  Zayn tries to take advantage plotting a dive but Leo bashes him in the face, leaving Zayn downed in the ring and Kruger still struggling outside.

Kruger starts taking advantage by applying submissions to a prone Sami Zayn.  The announcers go over both men’s involvement following last week’s NXT Championship match.

Kruger whips Zayn into the corner and mounts some punches on Sami’s skull.  One more whip and Sami jumps Kruger.  He runs the ropes before getting planted with a huge spinebuster.  The underdog Sami manages to kick out as a frustrated Leo Kruger talks to the ref.

Kruger climbs to the second rope but Zayn avoids the contact, rolling away. Sami pulls himself to his feet with the ropes and takes down Kruger with some clotheslines and dropkicks.  Leo kicks out from a quick pin attempt.

Leo shoves Sami into the corner but Sami hits an elbow to the face.  Crossbody off the top, Kruger kicks out at two.

The crowd chants SAMI and Zayn charges, only to get a knee to the face.  Leo throws Zayn shoulder first into the steel ringpost, before putting a high pressure submission on Zayn’s arm.  Sami reaches the ropes and while his arm is out of commission, the match continues.

Zayn tries to mount an offense but gets knocked away.  Zayn hits a spinning slam out of nowhere for a two count.

Both men struggle but Sami gets to his feet first.  He signals to the ropes and ascends.  Kruger pops up throwing a massive forearm before nailing a superplex.  Kruger seems just as hurt as the man he suplexed but he still gets up first.  He pounds his head and hovers above Zayn.

Kruger continues to work the arm of Zayn, eventually forcing Sami to tap.

Winner: Leo Kruger

The announcers put over how hard fought the match was, thinking the match was never going to end.

Renee Young is backstage asking Graves, Neville and Regal is the war with the Wyatts will ever end.  Neville assures Renee not only will they settle the score but he and Graves plan on taking the tag titles of Harper and Rowan next week.

Graves throws in that his fists will do all the talking.

Regal tells Renee how beautiful she is before he talks about his team and tells the Wyatts to get ready to take the hiding they have coming to them.

YES!

MASON RYAN!

As the monster from Cardiff heads to the ring, we hear this is set to be a 2 on 1 handicap match.

Ugh.

Enzo Amore’s name is shown and he comes out with Colin Cassidy again.  He has a mic and tells Mason that he only won on a cheap shot and tries trashing MASON RYAN.  This better end fast again.

All three will in the ring at once, so the announcers worry about Mason.

Fools.

Mason Ryan vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy

The two scrubs try to beat on the Colossus of Cardiff.  They throw punches by MASON RYAN clotheslines them down.  As he works over both men, Cassidy sneaks in a big boot.

Amore scrambles for the pin but MASON kicks out at two.

Of course he would, puny human!

Ryan back in control and he picks up the 7-foot Cassidy.  Amore chopblocks him and holds down Mason’s legs.

The ref counts three and I seriously contemplate never watching this show again.

Winners: Colin Cassidy and Enzo Amore

Not cool.  I don’t even want to talk about this one anymore.

Dusty tells us it is great to be NXT Commissioner because great, great and great things in Dusty speak.  Essentially, he tells us that Antonio Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn vs. Leo Kruger will go down next week to determine the #1 Contender to the NXT Championship.

The Wyatt Family makes their way out, doing the NXT style entrance where Bray preaches on the way out.

The Man That Gravity Forget, Adrian Neville makes his way out first.

Corey Graves enters next to join his side as both men wait for their final partner.

Regal makes his way out next as the Wyatt Family wait in the ring.

The Wyatt Family vs. Adrian Neville, Corey Graves and William Regal

The announcers quickly recap some of the recent trouble and cover Neville substituting in Ohno’s place during the tag title matchup next week.  As Maddox talks about Regal wrestling since before he was born, Neville and Erick Rowan start the match.

Neville tries to escape Rowan’s size and throws a nice dropkick to little effect.  Getting Rowan into their corner, Neville brings in William Regal, who pummels Rowan to the delight of the crowd.

The quick tags continue as Corey Graves comes in but Rowan uses his size to take down Graves and get Corey into the Wyatt corner, as he tags in his fellow championship partner, Luke Harper.

The two work their way back to the other corner and Graves does a quick tarantula variation before a tag to Regal.  Regal downs Harper and then distracts the ref to allow Neville to lay some unorthodox hits on Harper.

The Wyatts pull Harper out and do a huddle at the entrance ramp before a commercial break.

We get a rundown of next week’s show, advertising Bayley versus the debuting Charlotte (with Ric Flair advertised as well), Bo Dallas will take on Scott Dawson and the advertised main event Triple Threat #1 Contender Match.

Harper and Neville are in the ring and Harper takes control on some Bray Wyatt distractions.  Wyatt gets in the ring and lays the hurt on Adrian.

The Wyatts all take turns on Neville, as we hear from the announcers they are all of one mind.  After much coming and going form the team, Rowan stretches Neville out and brings Bray back into the match.

Wyatt begins to play with Neville but gets overly confident, leading to Neville dodging a big splash.  Neville tries to get to his teammates but is stopped by Bray.  Bray lays him out with a big slam but it only gets a two count.

Harper re-enters the ring and stomps away on Neville.  Neville escapes but Harper is able to prevent the tag again before locking him down with another submission.  Neville eventually tries to power out but Harper maintains the hold while smashing Neville in the head to stop any possible momentum.

Neville  pulls out a quick roll-up for two.  The shove him back toward the Wyatt side of the ring.  Neville avoids some Wyatt offense and slowly gets to the fresh William Regal.

Regal pummels Harper with an array of offense and after an exploder suplex, he attacks Rowan and Wyatt in the corner.  The ref chases him away and he goes back to bashing in Luke Harper’s head, complete with his patented Trembler.

The action starts to get crazy, as some chaos leads to Harper and Regal down in the ring and a Neville corkscrew suicide dive taking out Rowan and his own partner, Graves.

Bray is still fresh and Harper makes the tag.  Wyatt comes in and nails William Regal with the Sister Abigail for a victory.

Winners: The Wyatt Family

Wyatt poses as the show comes to a close.
