Living In Reality: 8/15/13

Rivals II:

We start with Theresa going on about being betrayed by Diem, and feeling that she can’t trust anyone. But you know who does have trust between each other? Jordan and Jonna! Jordan assures her that he won’t vote for her or a couple other teams (more on that later).

The next challenge is called “Frenemies”, appropriate for this show. And yes, it is indeed another heights/water mission. One-half of each team gets asked a series of questions and gets suspended 30 feet above water. The other halves then try to match their partners’ answers. Two strikes, and the person hanging over the water gets dropped in.

Girls Questions:
What did your partner say was your best body part?
Biggest fake in the house?
Who needs the most attention in the house?
Who’s the most likely to get arrested for indecent exposure?

Guys Questions:
What did your partner say is your most annoying habit?
Trashiest girl in the house?
Girl with the best body?
Sexiest man?
Which teammates hate each other the most?

With these type of questions, you know what’s going to happen; someone’s getting butthurt. For the record, Jemmye and Johnny Bananas caught the most insults during this exercise.

Theresa and Jasmine picked the order for the girls. They did a great job of making allies with both sides, but they had to break that up here. They tried to set Diem and Anessa up for a downfall by making them go first, but they did well enough to not finish last.

Jemmye and Camila were arguably one of the weaker teams in terms of chemistry, so it wasn’t surprising to see them struggle in this challenge and finish last. They’re headed straight to the Jungle.

Despite this being more of a thinking-person’s challenge rather than a physical one, Emily and Paula finished number one for the girls once again. At this point, it would take some type of fluke or major shenanigans for them not to win the whole thing at the end.

There wasn’t much of note during the guys’ run, but CT did make a shrewd political move by declining to answer the trashiest girl question. In the end, Ty and Leroy made it to the winner’s circle here.

Theresa knew Jemmye and Camila were gunning for her team, so she attempted to persuade the guys to vote for Anessa and Diem. Marlon and Jordan were pondering what to do, especially since Theresa was one of those aforementioned people that Jordan gave his word to. Johnny warned Marlon and Jordan to lay low and not make a rookie mistake.

Jordan and Marlon were at a crossroads come voting time. Either go back on their word, or piss off the main alliance, Jordan copped to being an asshole before saying that him and Marlon were voting for Theresa and Jasmine, which gave them enough votes to put them in the Jungle. Both girls were hopping mad afterwards, with Theresa in particular giving Jordan an earful.

The latest girls’ Jungle is “Catch-22”, where partners on treadmills across from each other have 22 balls total to throw to each other. Each girl is trying to catch the balls and toss them into a basket next to them. The treadmills progressively move faster, and if someone falls into the mud pit behind her, her team can’t continue. Best 2 of 3 wins.

Jasmine was doing really well initially but then fell unexpectedly, giving Jemmye and Camila the easy opening to take the first round. In the second round, Theresa was the one that fell this time when she had a difficult time handling Jasmine’s throws. Jemmye and Camila, the team with zero chemistry, managed to band together and remain in the game.

A lot of people were happy to see Theresa leave, which was a reversal from previous Challenges when she was part of the mean girls club. Theresa was actually nicer this time around (bad voting decision aside), but she ended up as the pariah.  Jemmye and Camila are nice to still have around as a potential train-wreck team though.

Back at the house, Nany expressed concerned about Jonna’s relationship with Jordan. Jonna has been known for being boy-crazy in the past, and Nany is unsure of where her head is at. Jordan still likes Jonna, but understands that this is just a right now thing. Will he double-cross her in the future as he did with Theresa? We’ll see. More second-half season previews are shown, which honestly, I only pay half-attention to for fear of being spoiled.
