If you don’t love FOOTBAW after Week 1 I don’t know what to do for you. You’re probably a terrorist who hates freedom and Johnny Football. I can honestly say that the opening Thursday was probably the best opening night of FOOTBAW I’ve ever seen. Plus on Saturday Georgia/Clemson even lived up to the hype. This week though…yeesh. Three really good games on paper and then a whole lot of filler.

Week 2 Featured Games
Thursday
Florida Atlantic at East Carolina, 7:30/4:30 PM, FOXS1
Spread: East Carolina -20.5
Announcers: Justin Kutcher, Petro Papadakis
All-Time Series: First Meeting
Reason to Watch: Now this game is going opposite the NFL season opener but that happens every year so do you really need to watch another one? As for this game you have opportunity to watch the Conference USA debut Florida Atlantic which will never happen again! I think the choice is pretty clear.
Friday
Wake Forest at Boston College, 8:00/5:00 PM, ESPN2
Spread: Boston College -3
Announcers: Carter Blackburn, Danny Kanell
All-Time Series: Boston College leads 10-8-2
Last Meeting: 11/3/2012 Wake Forest 28, Boston College 14
Reason to Watch: This game will likely decide who finishes in sixth place of the ACC Atlantic division. The stakes don’t get much higher than that.
Back Up Game: UCF at FIU, 8:00/5:00 PM, CBSSN
Early Saturday
#12 Florida at Miami, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN
Spread: Miami -3
Announcers: Dave Pasch, Brian Griese
All-Time Series: Miami leads 28-26
Last Meeting: 9/6/2008 Florida 26, Miami 3
Reason to Watch: This actually is a semi-rare treat when these two square off as it’s only sixth meeting in the last 25 years and there’s currently nothing scheduled again for the next few years. Is Miami finally back? Probably not. Does Florida finally have an offense? Probably not. Nevertheless this should be a good game well worth checking out.
Back Up Game: Cincinnati at Illinois, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN2
Mid-day Saturday
#6 South Carolina at #11 Georgia, 4:30/1:30 PM, ESPN ***GAME OF THE WEEK***
Spread: Georgia -3
Announcers: Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge
All-Time Series: Georgia leads 42-16-2
Last Meeting: 10/6/2012 South Carolina 35, Georgia 7
Reason to Watch: The shine on this game dulled ever so slightly with Georgia’s loss. Did I say Clemson was overrated? I was just kidding. But this game is still huge and could very well decide the SEC East crown. In this game you also get to hear non-stop talking of only the second most annoying media take down of a star player this past week which would be regarding Jadeveon Clowney’s conditioning.
Back Up Game: #2 Oregon at Virginia, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC/ESPN2
Primetime Saturday
#14 Notre Dame at #17 Michigan, 8:00/5:00 PM, ESPN
Spread: Michigan -3.5
Announcers: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit
All-Time Series: Michigan leads 18-15-1
Last Meeting: 9/22/2012 Notre Dame 13, Michigan 6
Reason to Watch: Smell the tradition! Actually for a rivalry that gets so much hype it’s easy to forget that these two didn’t play regularly until the late 70’s. With the Big Ten’s eventual plan the expand to a nine game conference schedule this rivalry will be discontinued for the foreseeable future after next year so enjoy it while it lasts. Also, fuck Notre Dame.
Back Up Game: #15 Texas at BYU, 7:00/4:00 PM, ESPN2
Late Night Saturday
Washington State at #25 USC, 10:30/7:30 PM, FOXS1
Spread: USC -14.5
Announcers: Craig Bolerjack, Joey Harrington
All-Time Series: USC leads 57-8-4
Last Meeting: 9/25/2010 USC 50, Washington State 16
Reason to Watch: What better way to finish your Saturday than watch Lane Kiffin lose to Wazzu? Okay it probably won’t happen and yeah USC might not be quite as bad as they looked against Hawaii. On the other hand the Cougs put up a good fight against a mediocre Auburn team on the road which for this program is a sign of progress. Stranger things have happened.
Back Up Game: Arizona at UNLV, 10:30/7:30 PM, CBSSN
