WWE Superstars – 10/17/2013

Kofi Kingston dances his way out, all while Rising Above Cancer.

Mr. Money in the Bank, Damien Sandow comes out, microphone in hand.  He informs the crowd their uncrowned World Champion has arrived.  As he mocks the crowd, Kingston looks on in disgust.

Kofi Kingston vs. Damien Sandow

Both men lock up and Kofi uses his speed to get away from Sandow. A-Ry talks about Kofi missing Money in the Bank due to bone chips, which was the real reason for Kofi’s absence this year.  I guess we we are okay to forget Ryback put him out at this point.

Kofi gets some elbows in to Sandow and both men square off again.  Sandow comes at Kofi a little more aggressively and the Intellectual Savior rams Kofi into the corner with his shoulders.

Moving away from the corner, Kofi is able to roll up Damien for a nearfall.  He starts trying to lock up Damien as the announcers point out Kofi’s tights being inspired by Bane of Batman fame.

The two men exchange moves that we are told we can recreate in WWE 2K14.  Alex takes a cheap shot at Phillips about video games, only to have Phillips son him by saying Riley is bitter that he is not a playable character.  A-Ry tries to save face claiming he can be created.

Damien starts to chase Kofi but Kingston once again uses his quickness to regain control of the match.  He hits a high flying move but Sandow takes down Kofi with a cheapshot and stomps away on the high-flyer as Superstars goes to commercial break.

Sandow maintains control and after Kingston trying to recompose outside, he hits a side Russian legsweep.  Sandow nails his Elbow of Disdain but only gets a two count.

Both men back to their feet as Damien applies a chinlock.  He tries to fight free but is grounded by the Money in the Bank winner.

Phillips now reminds us Kofi was put out by Ryback, which was ignored earlier in the match.  Good thing no one but me watches this.

Kofi gains enough steam to successfully hit the Boom Drop.  He starts getting the crowd worked up and goes for Trouble in Paradise.  He misses when Sandow ducks.  A few exchanges and Kofi rolls him up.  Two count.  Crossbody to Sandow.  Two count.

Kofi tries to keep winning via rollup, hits an SOS but Sandow gets the ropes.  Damien eventually targets the knee.  After kicking his legout, Sandow hits his Silencer Full Nelson Slam and once again uses Superstars to actually win matches.

Winner: Damien Sandow

HBK’s RAW appearance is scheduled to be replayed next.

A-Ry and Phillips discuss HBK’s appearance, leading into the first recap of the week, starting with HBK in the ring and ending with The Miz’s attack on Orton.  Odd spot to end…

Next up, the aftermath of Big Show’s knockout of HHH.

A mixture of recent Big Show and Daniel Bryan events air.  It started with the knockout but then mostly centered around Bryan’s Monday night.

Back to fresh matches, Dolph Ziggler’s music hits because he spent the week on Superstars and Main Event.

Main event was a loss to United States Champion Dean Ambrose and it looks like Superstars will feature Dolph against his former associate, Big E Langston.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Big E Langston

Dolph does some Show Off stuff to start off as we hear his Susan G Komen shirt is one of the best-selling in all of the WWE.  Langston flattens his former partner and starts using his power to throw around the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Langston grounds Dolph and batters him with fists before tying up Dolph from behind.  Dolph throws some elbows and tries to run away but Langston takes him down and gets a two count.

Langston slowly saunters over to Ziggler as if he were his prey before applying an abdominal stretch.  Dolph really fights out and as Ziggler starts laying in some fists and dropkicks, the announcers tell us part of Big E stepping out of the shadow of Dolph has been making Superstars “his yard” as of late.

Langston starts using his power and takes Dolph down.  He drops the straps, goes for the Big Ending but Dolph slips out.  A quick scramble and Dolph hits the Zig Zag out of nowhere.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Dolph looks on while resting on the barricade.  The match replays air before Dolph makes his way up the ramp with an angry Langston looking on from the ring.

Up next is the recap of RAW’s Tag Team Championship match.

The John Cena return promo airs.

A recap of the main event featuring the victory of the Rhodes Brothers closes out the show.
