WWF WrestleMania III

The "Were there really 93,173 people at WrestleMania III?" is one of my least favorite debates in pro wrestling. It was a lot of people. Who gives a shit about exact numbers?

It was the peak of the 80s wrestling boom. That's really all that matters.

Exactly. 78,000 or 93,173, it's still a huge, huge crowd.

Maybe if this was a case like Royal Rumble '97 where most of the crowd was papered, I could see it being an issue but this was the peak of the most molten hot era in WWE history.

As has been said previously, if the WWF could have put upwards of 100,000 people in the building, the demand was so high that they easily could have. So the number is unimportant to me.

Ah man I love "but it wasn't that impressive really" shit. It's the "Vince never had one good idea he just got lucky" thing.

Saw a post on one of the Facebook pages with Steamboat's WM 3 check stub: 50k!

That's still such a perfect match. I forget about it sometimes but everything works so beautifully.

The Savage promo before the match might be an all time favorite, too. It's one of those where he was right.

I love watching the guys soak in the crowd as they come down each match. Stadiums had been done but not sell outs like this.

I'm still semi convinced Savage was supposed to hit his head on the bell on the way down at the end as a set up to the finish.

That's just foam. Murderous Billy Jerk foam.
