For anyone still planning on getting this, Amazon.com still has it for $52.99, no shipping, no sales tax (in I think everywhere but New York) and now if you pre-order, on release date they will mail you a $10 Gift Card good for a future game purchase.

2k10 looks so beautiful.

Was able to play a quick game last night with the Rockets VS Kings. Won by 1 when Ariza hit a 3 with 1.6 secs left to take the lead.

More thoughts later on.

Has everyone made their mind up on which on to get since they both hit the streets tommorrow.

Still debate between both, probably going to wait until I see the reviews on both before deciding.

2k is just simply amazing.

The announcers talking about upcoming games by date and just everything that makes it feel like an actual broadcast.

If anyone wants to play tonight, I'll be on.

Well I played the NBA Live 10 demo, and it felt like probably the worst basketball game I've ever played. Controls felt horrible, and didn't really seemed changed too much from Live 06, the first 360 game. Unless it's for the presentation, which I will admit is awesome, I can't see why people stick with Live.

2k is a much better game, and as far as basketball, I'll be sticking with them.

2k hasn't made a college game since 2k8...some bullshit between the college liscensing corp. agreeing to one price point with 2k but EA coming in and offering more for less and 2k then backing out.

I played NBA2k10 at a buddy's place, and I found the gameplay a little more choppier this year. There are still the same bugs in the game, like the free throw shooting bug.

Live have yet to try, but hope to soon enough.

I have both sitting on my 360 and hope to give them a try this weekend. I had done my pre-order on 2k10 and picked up Live while in Best Buy this week because not only do they have it on sale for $49.99 but if you buy any EA 2010 game, you can get Fight Night 4 for $20.

How does NBA 2K10 differ from NBA 2K9 and NBA 2K8 in terms of gameplay, presentation, online play, etc?

Nevermind this.

After looking at videos of both, I'm really not that impressed with either of these games.

I saw a rather large list of things that need to be patched with NBA 2K10 on their forums, and it really says enough.

That sucks about 2K10. I thought it was just one or two bugs. I wonder how bad Live might be then.

I picked up 2K10 on Monday. The NBA Today feature is actually pretty cool and should get better once the actual season starts. The presentation is just spot on; they really made it look like you are actually watching a TNT broadcast. The My Player mode is fucking addictive, even though I got stuck on a Bulls summer league team full of really shitty players.

I got 2K this week and I'm really disappointed with the frame rate death on the game once you start playing in full arenas :(

Thankfully, there's a big patch coming that addresses quite a few of the early issues with 2k10.

From the 2k Sports forums, here's a link to the Xbox 360 patch details, and then one to the PS3 details.

Xbox 360

PS3

They're saying it'll be about 2-3 weeks, for the Xbox version, at least.

Now with the my player mode for 2K, can you do his whole career? They just make it seem like you do basketball camp, get drafted, the background changes, and that's it

Did anyone here even take a bite on NBA Live 2010? I have it for my PSP and it's really the same game from the 2008 edition.

I hope to get Live by the end of the week. I've played it at a friend's house a few times, and I absolutely love it.

What platform?

I tried NBA2K10 on the PP3 and it felt a little choppy to me.

I've played Live on the 360. No problems at all. Although to be fair, I haven't played Live 10 online yet, and that's where I noticed slowdowns most last year.

As part of EA's efforts to have arena-specific sound effects and chants for each team, you get a loud Ric Flair "WOOO!" every time Chris Paul scores in New Orleans. It's tremendous.

I guess the patch got released for 2K10 because I downloaded a title update when I started the game and the slowdown around the hoop is all but gone. The CPU plays a lot tighter defense now, too.

Well I traded in NHL2010 for NBA Live 2010. Commentary sucks, but the flow of the game was pretty entertaining. I'm currently in my second year.

I selected the Kings, put myself onto the team (like I do every sports game) and it gave me the options of "Build For The Future", "Making A Move", and "It's All Ours". Naturally it recommend me to select the option of "Build For The Future" so I decided to select it to be safe.

Then I proceeded to make every trade I could to make sure that I was so far under the salary cap that I could've signed LeBron if I had wanted to. Watching my team struggle all season long but still come up short was kinda sucky, but I figured the rewards would benefit when I get my first overall pick. Then I got screwed over by the lottery system, but still got my first overall draft pick (point guard comparable to Chris Paul). Had some 2nd round picks, made those to and with that I had my 12 man roster.

So new season comes along went through Training Camp and my new PF I drafted, Brandon Worthy, seemingly had some good stats. Since he was the tallest guy I had at 6'11, I moved him from PF to C and had him be my #1 C. Turns out that was the best option ever as he's like some Super C come from the planet C-ton, in which he's able to do everything except shoot 3s. Its quite awesome.

But yeah, having fun playing this. And best of all, no freezing!
