I've been really expecting Atlanta to trade up to the 1.03, except not for Stroud, Anthony Richardson. I really like his rushing ability on that run 1st offense.

I really won't be surprised if Houston trades out of 1.02 to try and pick up an additional 2024 1st to try and get one of those 2024 good QBs.

Also, we've talked about it for years in chat during the draft, the Ravens always fall into great defensive players. CB Devon Witherspoon just feels like someone they would luck in to getting.

Yeah, last year I nailed them taking S Kyle Hamilton in multiple earlier mocks because he just kept inexplicably falling to them.

I think the same thing happens here with either Witherspoon, Van Ness, or they go for a guy like CB Emmanuel Forbes who's likely to be an early 2nd Rounder if they trade down into the late 1st. I don't think OL is out of play for them but the Ravens usually key in on BPA (particularly defense) and there are multiple guys who have the talent of Top 15 picks who could fall to them in the early 20s if they don't try to trade up.

Quick hit thoughts...

- Patriots trading down and still getting the CB they wanted in Christian Gonzalez was a steal for a guy who was a projected Top 8 pick.
- Fuck the Baltimore Ravens as always for taking Zay Flowers. That WR run is gonna be interesting to look back at it in 3-4 seasons.
- Will Levis reportedly is freefalling due to his turf toe injury (which medical ppl believe is a long-term issue) and his refusal to get surgery on it after the season.
- Eagles are just gonna draft the entire Georgia defense over the next 5 years.
- Lions "reached" but they got a great RB in Jahmyr Gibbs and the best LB in the draft in Jack Campbell. Home run swings were necessary.
- Nobody had Darnell Wright going top 10 but that cemented what happened with Skoronski going 11 and being listed at OG as most pundits pegged him as.
- Lot of borderline R1/R2 picks went late in the draft as always (Kancey, Smith, Bresee, Anudike-Uzomah).
- Interesting names at the top of Round 2 especially TE Michael Mayer.

A few people already said it elsewhere, but the Lions made two great second-round selections...in the first round. Actually, Campbell doesn't bother me much because in that 20ish to 40ish range, players can go later/earlier than expected. Gibbs is a hard sell value-wise even though he should help the team a lot.

The Eagles made the picks I would've loved for the Lions, but then again, Philly has the infrastructure to handle Jalen Carter.

I wonder how close Brad Holmes was from drafting a fullback in round one. I mean Hunter Luepke fron North Dakota State could be a generational prospect at the position!

RB wasn't a round one problem for the Lions. WR seems more of a round one problem since all their receivers just got suspended for gambling.

am I missing something with people hyping up 5'9 WR's?

It depends which ones you mean. DB's and especially safeties are also getting smaller. Josh Downs is a great player. I wouldn't have taken Tre Tucker though.

Patriots filled a couple more defensive holes with DE Keion White (another value steal who fell) who gives them a legitimate bigger size/speed off the edge and LB Marte Mapu who they reportedly loved in the pre-draft hype and who was rising fast lately. Mapu has the speed and size to play Safety as well but could also bulk up to 225-230 and stick at ILB for the Patriots.

Pats have 9 picks today so it's a given they'll be taking offense - watch for a 3rd Down RB, a real slot WR, their typical developmental OT/OG in the 6th or 7th Round, and a Kicker. Their WRs all have size (Bourne is 6'1" 190; Ty Montgomery is 6'0" 216; Parker is 6'3" 218; JuJu is 6'1" 215; Thornton is 6'2" 182"; Lynn Bowden is 5'11" 204) but they need 1 or even 2 WRs who have the quicks to play from the inside.

What are the Packers' draft picks and order on Saturday?

  • No. 116 (Round 4)
  • No. 149 (Round 5)
  • No. 159 (Round 5)
  • No. 179 (Round 6)
  • No. 207 (Round 6)
  • No. 232 (Round 7)
  • No. 235 (Round 7)
  • No. 242 (Round 7)
  • No. 256 (Round 7)
Packers rocking 9 picks too. Since Gute sucks at 3rd round picks, we have to make hay in the 7th!

Patriots had a solid draft taking one of my favorite WRs in the 6th Round (Kayshon Boutte) while clearly forcing competition at interior OL with 2 OG and 1 C (who also played OG in college) as well as at CB with a couple of picks who have the size to make the switch to safety (Speed & Bolden) as well. Sidy Sow gave me some Shaq Mason flashbacks with his athleticism to pull/move and WR Demario Douglas gives them a potential slot WR with more legitimate speed.

I love everything about the Pats draft, and that's saying something with how awful the drafts were before the last couple years.
