Time for a Foley farewell was the pandemic when cinematic matches were the rage. I feel like even in his current hobbled (and now apparently wobbled) state, Foley could pull off a compelling cinematic matches. Now though no one cares about and/or likes them.

I assume someone is still doing that crap somewhere (just like there are still Zoom stand up comedy shows, believe it or not) but I don’t want to hear about that crap.

Waiting for some money to come through and hope it means I actually can get seats because Roddy Strong/Timothy Thatcher is gonna fuck and they're still announcing matches. Shelton, Shelley, and Danhausen are gonna be around, as well, and I wanna hang out with the baby bear.

Biggest indie show in Maine history. This is where WWE runs on the odd occasions that they run Lewiston (maybe like four times since I've been alive?), also where I saw a weird ROH/NJPW Supershow (featuring The Young Bucks jobbing to GD Bully Ray and Silas Young, during their time playing out the string before starting AEW), and most notably, where Muhammad Ali Vs Sonny Liston II happened, @alkeiper !

And of course, I'm going to a concert that night.

There’s a group running Wind Creek Convention Center in Bethlehem in July with a show headlined by Riddle. That’s a venue that seats up to 2,500. Also appearing, Jake Hager! Snitsky! Heath Slater! Alicia Fox! Tickets start at $29.50 but you can sit ringside for $99.50! And there are VIP packages! I need to share the ticket link because this is truly unhinged.

Limitless drew around 900 people when they ran the high school gym that the Maine Celtics play in back in September 2019 and they brought in no huge outside names.

I’m guessing they’re hoping to break at least 1k. I’m curious who the huge names are for independent wrestling in 2024. Limitless was the first promotion to unbook Michael Elgin so I doubt Riddle is an option (plus Riddle no showed a show for them last minute during Limitless first year or so).

Oddly, I think since AEW started, independent wrestling has kind of emulated mid ‘00s and on WWE where the draw is more the spectacle and variety of live wrestling than any individual talent.
