I didn't expect you'd get so buttshook at my comment, but you are kind of untouchable in the music folder. Please forgive me, I've committed a transgression akin to joking about the Holocaust in front of Elie Wiesel.

My original post about Slayer not knowing the bands on this list being akin to me not knowing about power metal wasn't even meant to be mean!! Sheesh.

This is the first time Byron has ever backpedaled on his snark. I consider this a victory for all TSMers who have ever felt the scorch of his lava tongue.

I'm dead serious! No backpedaling!

To be fair, I probably wouldn't recognize any of the songs on your hypothetical "MOST FACEMELTING POWER METAL JAMS OF THE 90S" list.

This wasn't meant to be snarky at all! If anything, it was an earnest response to Slayer's "Oh you hipsters and your obscure music!" snark. Why you always gotta talk shit about me, BUTT?

What the fuck is this page. I'm also sad to see 'Say It Ain't So' make the top 10, Kreese. 'Pink Triangle' seems like a more Pitchfork choice and it's a better song to boot.

Swap Pulp and Alliyah for Wu-Tang (I was pretty big on rap up until around when 2Pac went down and Puff Daddy became big) and Beck (which was all over the radio when I was a freshman)

If you've seen the Eddie Murphy Dr. Doolittle movie you've heard the Aaliyah song.

Byron's top ten movies of the 90s:

1. Dr. Doolittle
2. The Blair Witch Project
3. The Mummy
4. Ghost Dad
5. The Bodyguard
6. I Know What You Did Last Summer
7. Kazaam
8. Operation Dumbo Drop
9. Psycho (The Anne Heche one)
10. Krippendorf's Tribe

Remember when MC Hammer was on Death Row Records? I was kind of looking forward to seeing what that would be like. Then 2pac died and that was it.

2pac - Feat. MC Hammer - Too Late Playa (Unreleased)

He sounds so unnatural on the laid back g funk

I think if you want to take Hammer and try to plug him into an early 90's hip hop style Miami is about the only one that makes sense. I could see him on some 2 Live Crew type shit, they had the right tempo

The reality of Hammer is he's owes his entire career to a Rick James sample

Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em' still stands up today. Yeah it's mostly samples, but you'd be a goddamned liar if you didn't like Hammer back in the day.

And I wonder why Hammer didn't work more with Bay Area artists when he went Funky HeadHunter (Death Row era 2pac doesn't count)? A 95 era E-40/Hammer/ Too Short collabo would have been sick.

We need more nostalgia and what better than the rise of black women and "angry" white women venting through rock. I also remember Mary J. Blige (sp?) having a couple big songs during the decade.

I remember when this song was pretty big on the radio. Gotta love the common "theme" of almost any 90's rock song of the time.

TLC > Destiny's Child

TLC - Waterfalls

I thought Lauryn Hill was gonna be big but she kind of seemed to fade.

Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop

Lauryn Hill - Everything Is Everything

During a cheesy music video on YouTube marathon, we watched the video for "(Can't Live Without Your) Love And Affection" and my friend said "I like this shit WAY better than Nirvana". It's been an inside joke ever since.
