The personnel on Kind of Blue is a who's-who of Jazz for the next decades to come. I love it, but it barely breaks my top five for Miles, which says more about the other four albums than it does that one.

Czech's first rant about Illinois on the old board was really awesome but I could never find it. Oh well.

It's just cloying and dainty. Illinois is not dainty, except maybe Barrington. You can take vibes, an acoustic, and a children's choir and write songs about anyplace. It's nothing special.

This is one of the worst things I've ever heard. Aurally, it's a fucking mess. The guitars and drums sound like they're mixed in front of the big dumb choir, who must've fit this session in right before Sufjan Stevens needed them for Missouri or something. (Song in question: "'Show Me' Your Spirit!")

Who doesn't, right? This is on hiatus because Byron hurt my feelings! my headphone jack on my computer has become wonky enough to make sitting down and listening to an entire album inconvenient enough to not really be worth the effort. Thus, my pace has decreased considerably. Of what new stuff I have managed to listen to, I've liked Rain Dogs, Dechristianize by Vital Remains, and right this very moment I'm liking Sound of Silver a lot more than I did 6 months ago. "Get Innocuous!" is catchy!
