AEW 2026: Year Seven

I don't know why, but I sort of like the gimmick. It's dumb, but reminds me of The Boogeyman, and I do approve of some silliness in wrestling. I do like how he adapted his style and moveset to fit the weird gimmick.

Yeah, but Boogeyman was a sideshow; Lio Rush is ostensibly still booked like he's supposed to be a serious wrestler.

Boogeyman had the whole sideshow thing, but I always thought a part of that was to mask the fact he was also a bad worker. Rush is doing a dumb gimmick, but the company is at least smart enough to remember that workrate wise he's way better.
 
I dig the direction for Lio. And he's not booked that seriously, as he's always eating losses. Imo it's a better form of the original Blackheart gimmick, which was more just EMO Lio. The creepy little bathsalts goblin is growing on me.
 
Lio should be in the Hurt Syndicate. I wanna see him play off MVP either as the cruiserweight asshole or the dubious goblin.
 
Right? I think that dynamic could work. Plus I have the dream of the trios division actually mattering one day.
