Following the announcement of the release of Ron Rivera

the Commanders have hired Bob Myers, formerly of the Golden State Warriors, to run their operations.

Belichick may be gone in NE.
He seems like he is saying some of the right things and basically kind of daring Robert Kraft to fire him.

I don’t see any need for the Patriots to rush to a decision since the coaching carousel will rotate around them.

He really doesn’t wanna go somewhere else and have to learn annoying shit like “where is the stadium” and “who do I call at 3 am to take care of this dead hooker in my office”

Giants fired their OL and special team coaches thankfully.

OC Mike Kafka and DC "Wink" Martindale will both return.

Nope. Wink is OUTTA HERE. He “quit” is the story he’s putting out there.

Either way, Giants coaching staff just basically starting from scratch here.

Mike Vrabel has been fired from the Titans, presumably he has to be the heavy favorite to take over the Patriots if and when Belichick is gone.

Edit: allegedly the reason they went and simply fired him instead of orchestrating a trade which would have benefited the franchise is because the act of working out a deal would been “too complicated” for the organization to maneuver.

So to put it simple, the Tennessee Titans aren’t not a serious organization.

Is a team really going to trade anything worthwhile for a mid coach who is 4 years removed from his signature victory?
The QB and RB is open for new faces, so dicking around waiting to snag a coach seems like a poor choice as well.

Vrabel went 54–45 in Tennessee. He won the AFC South twice, made the playoffs three times, and got to the AFC title game in 2019

That's literally Jeff Fisher.

Let’s say the Titans are trading Vrabel to the Patriots. In that scenario, New England would first have to interview two diverse candidates in-person. The problem is that, starting this year, you can’t do those sorts of interviews with guys currently employed by NFL teams until after the divisional round. So the Patriots would either have to interview two people like Marvin Lewis and Herm Edwards (which would invite a lot of scrutiny from the league) or wait until the fourth week of January.

Bill Belichick sent his coaching staff home for the week. Whether or not they will have jobs to return to on Monday is anyone’s guess.

Also I am going to have a belly laugh at the first Pats fan I see on Reddit that says “Hey. What if the Patriots brought in Pete Carroll?!!”

Not a shocker. Any time a 73 year old man proudly proclaims “I’m not tired, I’m good”, he’s done.

is botching this and hiring, let’s say for instance, Brian Callahan, a leave the table moment for you, @909 as a raida supporter?

Giants hired Carmen Bricillo to be their OL Coach. He had worked with the Patriots OL in 2020 & 2021 before being the Raiders OL Coach in 2022 & 2023. Pretty quick rise for him as he spent 9 years at Youngstown State from 2010-2018 coaching their OL before the NFL jump.

I think we can all agree Belichek is at least in the top 2 all time. And definitely the best I ever saw live.

In the hopper:
Lombardi, Gibbs, Landry, Shula, Paul Brown, Halas, Parcelles, Noll, Lambeau, Madden

Feels wrong to include modern names in my warped mind but Reid, McCarthy, Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Sean Payton, Coughlin, Carroll, JEFF FISHER (173 wins),

Don't totally sleep on Chuck Knox, George Allen, Dan Reeves, Martyball, Holmgren, Shanahan, Bud Grant

Probably missing a big name or 2.

Some of those are nowhere near the top 10. Some are, though! Parcells might be a top 5. Obviously great in NY but, having spoke so highly of the 96 Packers as a potential goat team, nobody but Parcells was going to get a Super Bowl classic out of the Patriots vs that year's Green Bay team. Paul Brown and George Halas were good, successful, and wildly important. Shula has the wins record but with that longevity came a lot of down years as well and not winning a SB with Marino is a slight mark against him. It's Lombardi and Belicheck and some big legends close behind them.

Holmgren isn't a top 10 all time but it's fuckin dumb he's not in the HOF. 3 Super Bowls, with 2 different teams, plus his work with Montana and Young in SF before getting the Packers gig. Canton has had multiple chances to fix their screwup the last few years but have chosen to do such dumb things as induct Bill Cowher instead because he happened to be on TV at the time.

Meanwhile in Washington, they are continuing their campaign to become a big boy organization again and hired Adam Peters, the now former Niners ASST GM.

Given the connections, this has to make the Commanders the front runner to obtain this years popular young coordinator hire with Lions OC Ben Johnson.
