Talked to my cousin back in SC for far too long last night and the bizarre hero worship of this prick is off the charts. My family's already a bunch of devout Red Hats but holeeeee shit. I asked if she considered him a political or religious leader and it went waaaaay towards the latter. I don't even know what to call this form of religiosity. "Republican Jesus" has been around for a while and boy was it on display. The  fervor, I couldn't believe it. This was like listening to someone talk about Mother Theresa, a saint if not another messiah.

Like, we knew this already but we're all in big fuckin' trouble. Pair this with the poll from a couple of days ago where Americans view more religion in society and governance as a good thing, and I'm starting to think I'll be an old, old man before it starts turning around again.
 
The way the GOP / Right has embraced Nikki and not Brandi Love HAS to have her pissed off.
 
While I 100% believe it, there is no one less worthy of being taken seriously than Candace Owens.
 
Hope when someone finally holds me accountable for the stupid shit that comes out of my mouth, my nearest and dearest can have fun and profit.

(I have serious misgivings about judging grief, especially if the bereaved witnessed it, but this just gives me the ick - sorry I was off in my own little world when this was a breaking news thing so I wasn't able to weigh in on that end of the debate 👀)
