Comic Book Toys and Collectibles

I went to a nerd rummage sale in Manitowoc this AM. This guy's collection made me look rookie class. He had a bunch of rare toys sealed and graded. The last of the line Kenner Ghostbusters (800 plus for the 4 pack) Last in the line Thundercats you never see (Stinger, etc) in the box. Even some rarer MOTU guys like Twistoid MIB. And that was just what he mentioned. He said he had a near complete MOTU Classics line, and those figures are expensive even loose. He had the OG Thundercats Cat Lair, and the modern Super 7 version. etc etc

I was able to make him "oooooooh and awe" over my Speclectron figure. He also was jealous of all the cons and flea markets I've been to.
He's been working in meat plants for 25 years, so he's not "rich" so I'm wondering if his parents were well off. He lived in a upscale corner of the city. He had a wife and a couple of kids to boot.

We nerded out for over 90 mins. It was awesome. I bought 110 bucks worth of stuff from him but it was all modern NECA TMNT and Ghostbusters for the most part. .

Later in the day my cousin gifted me a TMNT vintage suitcase he found at an antique mall.

I missed the deal of the month/year at Goodwill in Sheboygan on Sunday AM. WWF Hasbros, LJN Bendies and at least one AWA Remco all priced for mere dollars. That included at least one of the Smoking Gunns, which goes for big money on ebay.

I was sent this pic but missed the text until it was far too late. The more I squinted at the picture, the more I died inside.

2 Flea Markets and 2 antique malls today. I got those Mario toys for under a buck a piece. Found a Hogan book (vintage) I don't think I've ever seen. TMNT for a buck. He man carrying case (I had one already of course) but it was 15 bucks under ebay and I couldn't resist.

I can't recall seeing that Little People Blacksmith shop before. It is the same mold as the later Sesame Street Club house (but they added a slide to the Muppets one)

Bro how many Ghengis Frogs do you need?
As u can see from the Castle Greyskull money shot, I have army built almost the whole MOTU OG line. A lot of that was buying lots on ebay to score guys/vehicles I didn't have.

I'll never forgive myself for not buying Eternia at 230 bucks when I had several chances to before the Covid boom. I also remember staring at Mumra's Tomb for 60 and not sealing the deal.

Pics aren't the best because I took them at 2 am in a basement that is not lit for youtube creator content so I did what I could.

The Skull Face guy and his Specletron friend are probably among the rarer things I own.

I believe I paid a buck for him 20 plus years ago.

Currently zero on ebay. His head sold for 40 recently. I think he goes around 330 w/o weapons when they pop up for sale. NERDS

I paid a premium for him semi recently. I spent 100 when he was running 125 on ebay at the time

If y'all wish to Baker Act me after seeing this plz do. Please don't come rob me.
(There's a little bit more in totes and such, which I should/could lay out but most of what I have is on display.)

I do have a box full of He-man weapons that I always consider putting out with the guys, but I am also afraid my cats will chew them up and wreck the value.

I look forward to my family being stuck with worthless shit if I live too long and the value of everything goes to pot. Who knows in this new age of collecting though????

That Wrestlemania 3 lunchbox is rad!
10,000 Vintage items and the modern thing pops Snuffy. I always enjoy finding out what can trigger somebody. My brother is 10 years older than me and likely thinks I'm goofy, but he popped for this thing which we had as kids while recently "touring" the basement:

And I realized that I missed the Fortress of Fangs earlier! Too cool not to go back down and take pics. I also grabbed a pic of the Food Fighters as they are fairly hard to find in the wild

Probably hard with what you have but one thing I've done for my cards is have printed copies of what I paid at the time with the date in case any family members sell them down the road as it's easier for future tax purposes. Or you could go the short-hand Excel like route and put in rough paid numbers and hope the IRS doesn't come after your future fam.

Went to a nerd rummage sale for most of this, but dipped into 2 antique malls and a tiny flea market as well.

Really good deals on vintage MOTU and TMNT. WCW ring was 3 bucks.

I pulled up 20 mins early. Then 10 mins later my competition "Scalper Bob" rolled up and he just walked into the garage 10 mins early, so I raced behind him.

Bob snagged this guy for 5, which I would have totally grabbed at that price:

Mixed bag this week. I drove two hours to the hilly woods outside of Milwaukee for an outdoor flea market at a old church compound (Holy Hill). It drizzled for much of my time there, so the vendors had their wares covered in tarps, making shopping less casual and relaxing.

One vendor had the Rocky Balboa Knock off puppet you see below, which has been on my ebay radar. My Grandma had them back on the farm.
I then ventured to Menominee Falls to check out a nerd store. It was mostly wildly over priced (300 dollars for a unboxed Castle Greyskull, 110 dollars for a 1993 Burne TMNT loose, etc) but I did pick up a TMNT toothbrush set.

Had my buddy not backed out of the plans, the drive would have been more fun. I spent it listening to "Between the Sheets" podcasts

Nice lunchboxes. How much did the toothbrush go for? Can you bargain at these places?
I bought the Tooth brush and the Walter Payton magazine from the Nerd store. I didn't ask for a deal but he gave me the magazine for free.
I will often get package deals at the cons and flea markets, but I do not ask for them usually. My mindset is usually if they want to charge too much I just don't purchase things. (TMNT thing was 40, which wasn't a "deal" but it tickled me.)

There was a guy at the church sale who wanted a Skeleton decor thing. They wanted 22, he offered 20 and they said no because others had been interested. So the dude legit just bolted out of the tent. I laughed out loud.
--
I felt like a REAL MAN when I was digging out McDonald's Happy Meal toys out of a free box and the moment I stepped back 3 toddlers jumped in to dig.
--
One booth had African American stereotype statues. I was in there with a black lady and I felt super awkward and bailed out.
--
I was amused that the first booth I hit when I got into the woods was selling Nazi stuff. Just what I expected from a church flea market....

After a quiet August we end summer with a bang. Phase 1: I saw this first pic in an online ad.....

And I see all that TMNT and go OMG OMG OMG. So of course I drive to Hobart (about 25 mins away from Brody Manor) this AM to see if I can get some HAWT deals. Turned out only the stuff on the table was for sale and everything else (A LOT MORE than in the pic) was his TMNT man cave. I did talk him into selling me a Giant Raph as he had duplicates and I have yet to score one.

I did get to enjoy an hour of nerding out as I stared at his stuff. I actually have a few TMNT he doesn't yet own.

Pic 1: The Channel 6 van. A real grail.
Pic 2: Power Wheel Turtle Van!
Pic 3: TMNT bowling
Pic 4: TMNT chests.
I probably should have taken ALOT more pics. His walls were covered in carded and loose figs.

Phase 2 of the big weekend: Wisconsin's Number 1 vintage toy store was having 15 percent off everything in the store, so I took the hour drive to snag some gold:

Giant NECA Shredder. She-ra horse (not Swiftwind), MODAK, E. Honda, A derpy Mario. Zangief, Rocky Balboa (limited edition), 1983ish Ms Pac Man PVC, NECA Baxter Stockman and a Frog thing from Savage Dungeon I believe. The frog was a random pick up.

They had a Wonderbread He-man for 2200 and the LJN White shirt Hogan, but his paint was rough for the 150 price tag.
