Time to get started on baseball! Keepers are due Feb 15th. Drafting will start on March 1st. One minor change this year, like the NBA league, I'm shifting the playoff tiebreakers over to Highest Seed Wins instead of season matchup results. Puts more of an emphasis on the complete body of work as opposed to just a couple of matchups that happened at random times in the season.

**UPDATE Feb 20th**
We have two new league members this year. Welcome guys! Their board usernames are currently pending due to whatever is currently screwed up with the board not sending out registration emails to google accounts. Currently it is working for Yahoo email accounts, according to the test I tried. Until those two guys get registered on here, I'll just have their usernames down as their yahoo names. It shouldn't affect drafting. I'll figure out some way to get their picks if the issue isn't resolved. Either email/yahoo league chat/texting. We also are going to be autodrafting the 14th place team. 909 is bowing out for now, and that roster is going to need a major youth movement. Currently it's entirely too dreadful for me to even try and get someone to want to take it over. I'm going to autodraft that team and try and make it attractive to find a new manager for it after the draft, and prior to the start of the season. If no one takes it over, I'll just put the team on autopilot and just make adjustments on holiday weekends like we have done in the past. No big deal. With the posting issues for the new members, I'm going to try and use the Yahoo Commish Notes a lot more.

Keepers:
The keeper limit will be 10 players. Teams keeping less than 10 players, will get consolation pick(s) in the consolation round which will occur after round one.

Keeper Luxury Tax:
If a team would like to keep an 11th or 12th player, they can. However they will have to forfeit certain draft picks. If they keep an 11th player, they will forfeit their 1st and 4th. If they keep a 12th, they will also forfeit their 2nd and 3rd.

Draft:
Draft Start: March 1st, 2024.
OG will kickoff the draft with the first overall pick for winning the consolation tournament.

The remaining roster spots will be filled by the Benchwarmer Waivers after the draft. Draft order will be the inverse of the regular season standings, non-snaking.

Fantasy Baseball League Rules

A. Teams can select a maximum of 10 keepers of any position. A 11th, and 12th keeper can be kept by paying a Keeper Luxury Tax.

B. Teams can choose to keep less than 10 keepers.

C. All keepers must be turned in by Feb 15th.

D. If keepers are not submitted by the deadline date, the team is considered open and a replacement manager will be found. Keepers lock on the deadline for all teams. Any remaining players that were listed as not kept after the deadline become free agents for the draft. They are no longer under your team control.

F. If a team keeps less than the maximum number of keepers, TEN, they will receive a compensatory round draft pick for every spot below the maximum.

Keeper Luxury Tax:
If a team would like to keep an 11th or 12th player, they can. However they will have to forfeit certain draft picks. If they keep an 11th player, they will forfeit their 1st and 4th round picks. If they keep a 12th player, they will also forfeit their 2nd and 3rd round picks.

G. A team will NOT receive a compensatory pick if they trade a keeper after the keeper due date deadline. Even if you trade a keeper after the deadline and drop below the 10 keeper max, you will NOT receive a compensatory round pick. Compensatory picks assigned for being under the 10 keeper maximum are assigned immedately following the keeper deadline. Comp picks for this will not be assigned again later on.

H. The compensatory round takes place after Round One in the draft. Compensatory picks are slotted based on worst to best end of regular season standings results. If a team has a second compensatory round pick, it is slotted in the same manner after all of the other team's first compensatory round picks arr slotted. Compensatory round picks may be given out at the discretion of the commish under other circumstances.

I. Injured/Retired/Unsigned/Suspended keeper exemption. If a manager decides not to keep a player after the keeper deadline takes effect they can cut said player. However, they can not add any other player from their roster as a replacement. Instead, they will be awarded a compensatory pick at the end of the compensatory round. If a manager decides to cut a player during the draft, they will be awarded a pick and its placement at the discretion of the commish. If a player is cut during the draft, that player is ineligible to be drafted by any other team. The player is essentially on waivers and can be added after the draft through waivers. A player can not be cut if he is not seriously injured, retired, unsigned, or suspended. A significant injury is classified as something to cause a player to miss at least half the season. Example, broken leg/arm, acl tear, tommy john surgery.

J. The draft. The draft is ten rounds, non-snaking, worst regular season record to best for slotting. Consolation Winner receives the first pick in the draft. This is an extra pick. If the consolation winner leaves the league, than the prize is vacated for that season. The remainder of a team's roster is filled by post draft waivers. Those post draft waivers are slotted worst end of regular season record to best. Teams incurring time limit delays 2 or more during the draft lose their spot and go to the end of the line. After the initial post-draft waiver period passes, the waivers are reset to the initial ordering for the regular season. There is no benefit to not use your waiver claim spot after the draft. If you do not fill your roster at all prior to the waivers being reset, your season number will be slotted at the end of the line.

Draft picks can be traded at any point during the season, off-season, and during the draft. Trade must be posted in the league thread on this forum and both teams confirming it. If you make a trade involving picks and after the season a team leaves, the traded picks are still in effect.

K. After the Fantasy Championship matchup has ended, the in-season trade deadline period will be lifted. Trading can again commence. Managers must post in the Fantasy Baseball thread any trade and both managers involved in the trade must confirm the trade is true before it is validiated.

L. During the draft, a manager has 12 hours to complete a draft pick. The time starts immediately following the previous selection. If a manager selects an already drafted player, the clock immediately starts for the next manager. They are allowed to skip the team making the invalid pick. This is not considered a delay for the manager making the invalid pick, they can just make a correct pick when they next get on. After a team's 2nd time limit delay their time is dropped to 8 hours. After their 3rd delay, their time is dropped to 6 hours the remainder of the draft.

M. If you draft a player without stats for the prior regular season during the draft that is a Rookie BEFORE the Yahoo! player pool is posted, and he is not in the player pool by the END of the draft, you lose that player as a draft pick and any rights to that player AND will be forced to select someone from the remaining undrafted players ONCE the draft is completed. This is a pretty uncommon situation anymore, but could still happen.

N. New managers inherit all facets of their team when taking over a team, players, draft pick slot, draft pick trades.

O. Team Abandonment.
If a team is left abandoned or neglected during the season. The manager is subject to be replaced. Poor performance is not considered neglect. Leaving an injured player in a starting lineup in a league that has daily roster moves for 3 or more weeks is. If your team falls in to general starting lineup neglect, expect to get a message suggesting to make some roster moves. If no moves are made within a week, don't be shocked if you get replaced as the team's manager. This rule is designed to prevent the teams that are left for dead mid-season and their manager never returning.

P. League Year.
The new league year begins immediately following the keeper due date deadline. For this season, the new league year begins on February 15th, 2024.

Q. These rules are subject to review and revision after the season is over and prior to the start of drafting at the discretion of the league and the commissioner.

Sorry to see you go! That team is going to be a tough sell pre-draft, so I'm gonna assume that I'll have to autodraft for it to build it up some before I can find a new manager to run it. I'll list it's few keepers soon, but I see a lot of Compensatory Round picks in it's future.

I do have a couple inquiries about the two other available teams, so hopefully those are filled in the next few days

Once I get these last two teams filled and keepers from the new managers I'll get the yahoo player pool squared away.

The yahoo player pool is currently updated to display the available draftable players.

I have Add/Drops currently looked until after the draft. As always, during the draft I will manually add your drafted players to your roster. Once the draft is finished, I'm going to reset the yahoo league and enter the full keeper & draft results so that team's draft grades are accurate for those that enjoy that feature. Teams will be unlocked on yahoo at that point.

We have two new league members this year. Welcome guys! Their board usernames are currently pending due to whatever is currently screwed up with the board not sending out registration emails to google accounts. Currently it is working for Yahoo email accounts, according to the test I tried. I sent tekop a message with my findings, but haven't heard anything yet. Until those two guys get officially registered on here, I'll just have their usernames down as their yahoo names. It shouldn't affect drafting. I'll figure out some way to get their picks if the issue isn't resolved. Either email/yahoo league chat/texting. I already get picks sent to me through a variety of ways anyway. We also are going to be autodrafting the 14th place team. 909 is bowing out for now, and that roster is going to need a major youth movement. Currently it's entirely too dreadful for me to even try and get someone to want to take it over. I'm going to autodraft that team and try and make it attractive to find a new manager for it after the draft. If no one takes it over, I'll just put the team on autopilot and just make adjustments on holiday weekends like we have done in the past. No big deal. With the posting issues for the new members, I'm going to try and use the Yahoo Commish Notes a lot more.

I also added a New Manager Round after the Compensatory Round like we have done in the past to help out the new managers get caught up a little on talent.

Drafting will officially being on March 1st. Remember teams get 12 hours per pick. After 12 hours they can be skipped by the next manager.

Draft officially starts tomorrow, March 1st. The 12 hour time limit goes into effect at midnight eastern for Dirt Beaugall will be on the clock at Noon eastern if no pick is made.

Reminder on Time Limit Delays, after your 2nd delay, your time gets reduced to 8 hrs per pick for the remainder of the draft. After your 3rd, it goes down to 6 hrs per pick for the remainder of your picks.

You can always send me your picks ahead of time to avoid missing your pick if you know you will be tied up for an extended period of time.
