RE Savage: he'd be flayed alive by a lot of people after his episode aired had he been alive. For a week.

Vince was also only mentioned like three times. That bothers me as well.

They're doing one on the steroid trials though

Dr Zahorian, Graham, and Warrior can take the heat in that episode. Don't want to disrespect McMahon for enduring the trial of a lifetime with that broken neck.

JR does directly blame Vince for the incident though. I don’t know if they asked him and left that part out but on his podcast he blamed Vince directly for causing the entire thing. The story everyone tells about Vince and Angle happened on the flight over there while everyone was trying to sleep. And then Vince making JR do everything was also blamed. A few things that weren’t on the show are that Arn and Gerald Brisco made the situation far worse by getting drunk quickly and setting a bad example. JR, Vince, and Linda were the only sober people in power on the whole plane. Even the pilot interfered more than Vince did.

I don't put a lot of blame on JR at all because he was screwed no matter what happened. He only was put in that role to fuck with, like everything else. Vince enjoyed him in particular having to be the one to hurt guys and I don't know if I can be convinced otherwise.

Twitter people going after Dustin and his defenders blaming it on anti-AEW bias is something, though.

Did Dustin even do anything terrible? I heard he sang to his ex- wife and made her uncomfortable (which is shitty) but anything worse than that?

Dustin would probably readily admit what he did and apologize. He said he was on way too many drugs at the time and not in control of himself. That is still his fault though because nobody made him do drugs.

He reportedly made some lewd remarks at and sexually assaulted the other flight attendant (grabbing her ass, etc.) who was part of the lawsuit.

Dustin's been very honest in recent years about how fucked up he was. Bet he'll even put a statement out of some kind because he seems like that kinda guy now.

If anything amidst all this I took some joy from bad things happening to Hayes. So there's that.

I think the stewardess mentioned that Dustin Rhodes helped get Flair away from her.

Yup but there were two flight attendants who did the lawsuit. The lewd remarks ("you and me are gonna fuck"/"are your tits real?") and ass grabbing were done to the flight attendant not on the episode.

Did he actually see any of that money? I thought Gawker declaring bankruptcy made it harder for him to collect.

He got 31 million after their bankruptcy. It was like three times more or some shit before that. He was also broke so it couldn’t have worked out better for him.

Gawker settled for 31 million. Hogan was helped out by hardcore trumper Peter Thiel.

Damn as much as I hate sharing private stuff like that publicly, that kind of money seems excessive and like a bad precedent for journalism.

I'm not defending his mistakes. Nor, at this point, is Rhodes trying to rationalize them either. But I can come to respect people who admit something, face consequences for it, learn from it, and become better. I have not seen that from Flair, McMahon, etc.

Agreed. Was just quoting your post and adding the tweet/image for geniusmoment's sake so he can get the context from both sides (Dustin's good and bad moments).

It's funny to me in that when you think about it, losing it all because of a sex tape involving Hulk Hogan is the most on brand way for Gawker to end (though they actually came back this year)

Ok. Wasn't sure.
More recently, he's been attacking AEW (referees in particular) on the internet. "It's hard for me to watch it," Chioda stated, probably because it doesn't feature sex predators.

I don't keep track. I hadn't thought about Chioda in god knows how long, but good to know he isn't working and is scared of women doing a better job than him (assuming that's his big problem).

In a way Chioda grossed me out the most, like he'd be the guy cheering on a sexual assault but not actually taking part. Which I guess he was.
