Just a week away from E3 2009 (2-4 June) and the 'build up' is starting to get some pace to it now with various games developers dropping hints and bigging their portfolios up.

Surprisingly EA are one of the groups making the loudest noise, suggesting they have plenty to offer over the next few years. Obviously, there's their usually array of games (Madden, NHL, Fifa) that'll come some air time, but hopefully we'll see more original games like last year's Dead Space and Mirror's Edge revealed.

Sega have a few games under their belts to show this year. Besides their continued flaunting of the Sonic legacy in whatever way they can (Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing), they have a few 'new' Franchise games on the way; Alien v Predator,

Swine Flu has claimed a victim this year in Dead Rising 2, which was due to be demoed but has since been pulled due to the staff not being able to leave Japan - fucking swine flu!

Saw on gizmodo earlier today a sweet Hulu to XBOX360 rumor, which would be awesome.

Has anyone ever been to E3? Is it worth going? Myself and a few friends were debating going in 2010 instead of our usual annual NYC trip.

Its only just opened up to the 'public' again, as it was a behind closed door deal since 2007 or so from what I remember. I can imagine it costing an arm and leg to get into and there's no promise you'll get to play on all the games - the ones you do you'll have to queue forever to try.

I mean if you REALLY loved computer games, like you occasionally dress up as Super Mario during sex, then yeah it'd probably be worth while forking out the cash to go. I'm happy just to get the info off the internet and look at the trailers when their up.

True true. I mean, it'd be the main reason for going (I'm assuming it's locked in to being in LA every year until 2016) but we'd also do other shit there too. I wonder what the cost of a pass is.. ** just checked = $500 USD for a 3 day floor show pass. Damnnnn..

Well cheers detective Butt, but they'll be shown during Microsoft's show as part of the 360 line up - even if some are Capcom, Ubisoft, Rockstar, etc

I'm hoping for the debut of Pikmin 3 at Nintendo's conference. It just seems like the time is right; however, as Pikmin 2 for Wii hasn't been released in the U.S. yet, I doubt we will see 3 released in 2009. That said, they must have SOMETHING ready for this fall's big release, but a new Mario is unlikely just two years after Galaxy and I can't see a new Zelda being unveiled in June and released in November. Perhaps, just maybe, The Sales Juggernaut That Is Kid Icarus WILL make its debut at this conference, thankfully not from Factor 5. Luckily, Wii will once again have third parties to pick up the slack with such core titles as Resident Evil: (something) Chronicles, Tony Hawk: $120 Peripheral Edition, Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2, iCarly, a port of Chibi Robo, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

I really hope Nintendo doesn't bomb again. Last year was such a let down by Nintendo.

Still a bit disappointed that they'll be no Dead Rising 2 set up :( It shouldn't be a problem though, as we all know what to expect from playing Dead Rising and seeing the trailer.

Aye, was about to say, the usually do for members. Still not sure what I'm looking forward too, if anything at all. I think the place will flutter a bit both from MS and Sony fans if there is a MGS port announced - it wouldn't be a surprise either way. There has been a count down to E3 on the MGS site for a number of weeks now, so 'something' is going to be announced.

Sony fans say its MGS5
MS fans say its MGS4 on 360

I say - I'm not bothered unless its a fucking improvement gameplay wise to the Sony MGS4. Visually stunning, stunningly short and boring (cutscenes a side).

Anything on Splinter Cell and Alan Wake would be nice, just, you know, to confirm they're still alive.

The Mario game better not be yet another sports title.

edit- Just go to the JTV gaming section. Should be coverage. (Room I posted seem to stop showing.)

Streaming E3 coverage. And I'm guessing maybe other rooms will open up later in the gaming section. If the IGN coverage is indeed members only.
