Will there be DLC to prevent this?

The Shenmue Kickstarter is off to a great start. Well over $600k in the hour or so it's been up.

Apparently they broke a record. Over $2mil in 8 hours..

I haven't ejaculated wildly about Mass Effect: Andromeda yet because it's not really a surprise. I will be crazy excited once the calendar flips over to 2016, though.

New Star Fox game, the Fire Emblem Fates (If in Japan) is out next year, Shenmue 3, new Mass Effect, new Mario RPG that ties Paper Mario and All-Stars together...

And since they are redoing FFVII, this means that the new engine Square's been working on has been completed. As that engine was the only way they were going to release it. Also meaning if they have made a full game of that Witch demo, we're going to get a release date on it, I would think.

I don't remember much about it other then it seemed to be mostly having to walk around and talk to people 90% of the time in anticipation of a 5 minute "fight" (boring)

I liked the story. Yes, gameplay wise it wasn't the greatest (quick time events, FUCK), but the story is why I wanted another one.

Also, a new Nier game (WHA~?), something related to the Chrono series was suggested, a new studio bringing a thank you (Project Setsuna).

All in all, while E3 isn't knocking it out of the park, there hasn't been a single moment I've gone "okay, that was disappointing". ...I'm talking announcement wise, not the presentations.

Doesn't everyone remember just how so very boring Shenmue was?

It was a very beautiful game. You got to explore parts of Japan and Hong Kong and play lots of Lucky Hit.

I liked the story.

Fire Emblem # (Sharp) is probably the biggest "WTF"...

Even weird was the more WTF it got, the more I went "gimme more"!

I think the real 2015 holy shit e3 moment has to go to finally having a FFVII remake. All my money goes on the charm and memories of the original not being there. And there won't be a honey bee manor that's for sure.

I was discussing that exact thing with a friend earlier. Could you imagine the bathhouse stage remade with modern graphics? It would never happen in a million years though. It was a different time back then.

I'm just looking forward to shiny HD modern takes on things like Bahamut Zero, Demon Wall, WEAPON, Genova and Bizarro/Safer Sephiroth.

I'm a PC gamer and even I'm not sure this is needed.

Some Deus Ex developers are on stage though so might see something new.

Real talk: this will appease about 10% of people that wanted this and the rest will raise holy hell if they try and tinker with things.

Watching the Square-Enix conference. OH MY GOD JUST CAUSE 3 YOU GUYS!! GRAPPLE HOOK AND WINGSUIT FTW! I'M GONNA BLOW ALL THE SHIT UP!!

And I thought Metroid couldn't get worse after Other M! Actually, this game looks like it could be fun, and yet it's totally wrong and shouldn't exist. What a paradox.

RE: Shenmue: http://kotaku.com/sony-is-helping-make-shenmue-iii-1711819045

With Shenmue III, the rest of the money seesms to be coming from Sony. How much? No idea.

“Sony and PlayStation is definitely a partner in this game,” said Corsi, “and it’s going to be run through third-party production. We’re going to help Ys Net get the game done, we’re going to be partners on it the whole way, and really excited to see this thing come out in a couple of years.”

As of right now, Shenmue III has raised $2.7 million (and counting), and it’s scheduled to be released in December 2017 on PlayStation 4 and PC. Other platforms could happen eventually.

Also, FFVII remake looks to be more than just a remake: http://kotaku.com/the-final-fantasy-vii-remake-wont-be-exactly-the-same-1711909183

No, I don't think we'll see it. Unless you've got the current team working on XIV, I don't think they'll use it. Heck, I'm doubtful they include Cloud's crossdressing. Though either Tifa or Aerith almost being violated by Don Cornelio? Probably so that it is more "edgy" or true to the "original vision" they had. Which is what I worry about any time there is a remake. That they'll go with the original stupid ideas, rather than going with what the outcome was.

I highly doubt it'll have the charm of the original. Especially since the aesthetic seems to be drawing heavily from the movie.

Though if it is anywhere near Crisis Core and I think we'll all be happy.

And well fuck. Bruno just pointed my exact worries.

I wonder how some of the limit breaks will look, remastered. I anticipate a hyper realistic Tifa giving Emerald Weapon a Fishermans Buster.

My one big hope for this remake is that they bring back the ATB battle system. Getting away from that tried and true system that works in favour of new awful gameplay gimmicks is the main thing that's turned me against the franchise in the post-PS1 era.
