乾杯-鎮座DOPENESS

Kanpai - Chinza Dopeness

Great song and video. It's about getting drunk and not giving a shit in case that wasn't obvious through the video.

Mr. Dopeness also holds the honor of being the best Japanese freestyler I've ever run across.

ZEBRA + AKTION - neva brother.avi

"Neva Enuff" - ZEEBRA feat. Aktion

ZEEBRA's one of the biggest name in Japanese hip-hop and a former member of the lengendary and awesome group King Giddra who I'll definitely be posting later. Also, this movie kind of rules.

Turning away from R&B and hip-hop for a moment here's this:

Maximum The Hormone - Koi No Mega Lover

"Koi no Mega Lover" - Maximum the Hormone

MTH is a band I'd for sure hate if their songs were in English. Just the kind of faux-metal I tend to loathe. I guess you could call them a guilty pleasure. Plus, they trolled their fans on NicoNico once and it was awesome, IIRC.

The video's good, goofy fun!

【PV】 RIP SLYME - GALAXY

"GALAXY" - Rip Slyme

I could post Rip Slyme videos all day.

Rip Slyme - Scar (PV)

"Scar" - Rip Slyme

See? These guy have a really varied discography. Nearly every song is something new, different, and fun.

They actually do. Or try to. They sprinkle English in almost all their songs. Man I hate that band.

Hah. Yeah, but they tend to use a lot of "big" words in Japanese that I ended up learning way earlier than I probably needed to thanks to them.

I actually liked the MTH video though I think they'd get old fast. I liked "Galaxy" by Rip Sylme as well. The others were ok or didn't do much for me.

These are two videos by ACID. They were used by Tokyo Maijin as show themes which is how I found them. I really enjoy them. Anime is how I know Japanese music.

Tokona-X - Let Me Know Ya..... Feat AK-69 (HQ)

"Let Me Know Ya" Tokona-X fea.t AK-69

Tokona-X is a straight up gansta. How many other Japanese rappers have died under "mysterious circumstances?" Nobody. I don't think. Plus, he raps in Nagoya dialect, which kind of rules.

Edit: While we're here, conspiracy theories state he might have been killed for a dis towards DJ MOTO in this song:

TOKONA-X 知らざあ言って聞かせやSHOW

"Shirazaa Itte Kikaseya Show" - Tokona X

I've heard that Pillows song before. I think somebody recommended it when I was still looking for Japanese rock.

I've just learned that I don't like any Japanese rock music. At least none that I've found.

Ah Fuck Yeah my niggas ZEEBRA and Claude Maki aka AKTION. I hope to one day see some Aktion raps in here (specifically Get Wet, one of the best summer jams of this century).

"Aijin 28 " - Sex Machineguns

Metal! Similar to Overkill, I think.

I mostly liked that. I didn't really care for him continually rhyming words with themselves like "da" with "da" and "so" with "so," but post more like that, KOAB.

Dragon Ash - Life goes on
"Life Goes On" - Dragon Ash

Not really my thing, but Dragon Ash is pretty popular among a lot of the various language learning circles I've been a part of.

Re: I post YouTube videos of Japanese music too good to be stuck on those islands.

So, despite the bit of longevity she seems to have in Japan, I've decided Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is a one-hit wonder. :( All of her songs and videos seem to be trying to hard to capture the wonderful cute and fucked up nature of PonPonPon. All of them try to be catchy in the same way, too, with the chorus mostly being the same couple of words repeated over and over. Too bad. :(

Her latest video for comparison:

"Death Jazz"

High energy jazz music by Soil and "Pimp" Sessions

Found them via the Anime Michiko to Hatchin the opening theme song "Paraiso"

[Michiko to Hatchin] Paraiso (full ver.)- Soil & "PIMP" Sessions

AIE (Japan Blowin' Up in Ya Face!)

Soil & Pimp Sessions - A.I.E (JAPAN BLOWIN' UP IN YA FACE!!)

Suffocation ---- likely my favorite of their songs

SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS "Suffocation"

I think my favorite part of the band is "The Agitator" just a guy with a megaphone that yells every so often.
