A Youtube creator's pilot episode turned A24 Amazon series. Totally fun stuff, also set in the same universe as the series called Helluva Boss which can be seen on Youtube via the creator's channel. If you're into "adult" cartoons with horror elements, these series are probably made for you.

Good stuff overall, loved the twists that came and a few of the character reveals. The pacing is very fast at times but understandable considering cramming a season's worth of stuff into just a short run of episodes with a decent cast of characters to cover and utilize. I can see this turning off people/being a noticeable flaw of the series though. The animation and character designs are the highlight of the show IMO with background characters getting crazy detailed designs. One review I saw called it an early 2000s Cartoon Network show turned into an "adult" cartoon, which is pretty apt with the cussing throughout and the art style.

The Broadway song style is very overt but it's also, IMO, another highlight of the series. I adore several of the songs and the varied styles are just fun to see.

Amazon has reportedly ordered 2 Seasons so we'll see if the show gets its 2nd Season. I hope it does, especially with the teasing at the end of the Season 1 finale.

Halfway through the first ep and I'm on board. It's like if someone took a warped negative of a Disney story and had Jhonen Vasquez do a treatment while on a coke binge.

This was good but not great. The animation is cool and I like some of the characters. I actually thought the songs were the weakest part.

Really love the camaraderie between the cast mates...

Helluva Boss Season 2 has been dropping episodes periodically. It's great stuff and I adore Moxxie/Milly's relationship, the Blitz/Stolas stuff, and the side characters (Loona's great and Fizzarolli is ace b/c jesters duh).

Moxxie/Millie and Asmodeus/Fizzarolli may be two of my favorite couples in any media <3

There's 5 episodes left in Season 2 with the animation somehow stunningly getting better & better with the music starting to really amp up too.

Episode 8 of Helluva Boss is likely dropping this coming week. So hyped.

"I know a lot are expecting our next episode out this weekend (Memorial Day Weekend). Because we are trying to make it the best it can be it’s looking much more like next week! Solid dates coming for the next eps, but this one is just a tad special, still a little cooking left to do! Thank you all!"

Well Episode 8 dropped and my heart broke for like the 3rd time in this series.

Episode 9 of Season 2 dropped(!) Blitz/Stolas continues to be such a gut punch roller coaster of a relationship. Fun to see Verosika return and the "theme" of the party was hilarious (and totally on point). Stolas finally gets his moment(s) relationship wise but Blitz :( The drama...

Episode 10 Ghost Fuckers dropped and it was great! Loved the exploration of Millie's backstory re: her joining up with Blitz, Blitz's ongoing inner trauma over hurting everybody around him/letting them down, and I'm all about the random Blitzo/Millie fights I didn't know I needed.

Mastermind dropped and did not expect it to turn out the way it did! Another gut punch of a finish to an episode but we got some exploration of the Hell universe with some return characters in entertaining moments. Also FUCK Stella... not often I feel instantaneous rage at a character but she deserved it this episode.

Hell Yes. I also just needed Charlie & Blitzo together. *Cue the Hella-Verse*

Yay for more shorts coming! The one with Blitz and Loona and the adult teaching kids life-long lessons show host killed me (and him!)

New Helluva Boss ep dropping soon. Amazon dropped a "trailer" for the show coming to it.

This may've been my favorite short yet. Mozzie's plans, impersonating an "angel" + Mafia shit was just gold.

Mission Zero, the "rebooted" pilot for Helluva Boss dropped. Arguably much crasser and more sexual in tone but some great art effects (you can see the evolved art style that was coming off Season 2 being reflected here) and a tighter introduction to the characters/story/concept. Good 'pilot' for the series for folks coming into it on Prime with little knowledge.

Hyyyyyyyyyyyppppppppeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd as fuck!

The first 2 episodes of Season 2 for Hazbin Hotel dropped and it was great stuff. The pacing definitely felt slowed down, in a good way, and the animation has definitely gone up a notch. The Vox/Valentino/Velvette song was just a pure delight. "Like You" was also fun and one can definitely see the Broadway influences more-so in the songs already. "Gravity" was a banger, I can see why is was hyped up pre-release of the season. Always down for a Lute/Adam rock song.

EDIT: Charlie and the call back to the fucking hand claps during her song with Baxter was gold.

Enjoyed the Charlie/Vaggie scenes and liked that Charlie did get more screen time with multiple characters here including her dad (a sweet moment that also shows the growth of the writing in general). Vox wanting to basically be a god (because he led a cult as a human) and overtake heaven while utilizing the news to instill fear is perfectly on point for a character like him.

Sir Pentious is too pure for all worlds, that's all. Absolutely loved seeing some of his backstory in the 2nd episode. The VA for Lute also did an absolutely fantastic job in this episode emphasizing the pain of losing Adam and outrage at accepting Sir Pentious and his redemption while believing the annihilation were justified and Hell will now up rise. Her just breaking and imagining Adam in her head is an icing on the cake.

Since we obviously need the Gravity "music" video :)

Absolutely loving the lore drops in the first 4 episodes (Alastor backstory!). Charlie just going crazy trying to redeem Angel Dust was a fun sight to behold and the whole train track damsel in distress thing was stupidly over the top in a great way (loving the callback to "classic" TV e.g. the rodeo stuff with Striker in Helluva Boss and this). The pacing is still really good and I like that characters like the Vees, Cherri Bomb, and others are getting more screen time.

Vox running shit and completely fucking with Charlie and her attempts at redemption through the Hazbin Hotel is just a great little concept executed really well. Katie Killjoy being a bitch to Charlie like in the pilot was a treat to see again too.

As a fan of 40s and 50s "broadway" musicals I greatly enjoyed the Alastor/Rosie duet. Also a NIFFTY SONG was not on my Hazbin Bingo Card.

Alastor vs. The Vees holy shit. This was an EPIC battle art wise out of fucking nowhere. Definitely flashed the upgraded animation this season.

Fantastic run of eps with continued bangers for songs especially Husk. Gave me chills.

Vox continuing his rise and engaging hell to go after heaven is a delight, Lute welcoming it while Sera/Emily/Adam are all far from happy is a great juxtaposition. This is such an obvious continuation of Season 1 and fits the bigger arcing plot lines so well.

Great episodes to close out the season. Episode 7 was a lot of fun (always up for Pentious!) Episode 8 was a complete banger from start to finish although some of it felt a little rushed simply because there was just so much going on visually and storyline wise. I low key love the call backs made in both songs and past episodes and the final moments made sense for several characters.

Visually this season was such an upgrade over Season 1 and the vast majority of the songs were bangers too, probably better on the whole than Season 1 although "Poison" and "Loser, Baby" may still be tops for me personally.

The more I think on it Losin' Streak, as short as it is, may be a contender for Song of the Show. I've listened to it 4 times and I get literal physical chills every god damn time. I didn't know a man could get that high (or emulate female vocals this damn well) but Blake Roman does it.

Also Angel Dust in drag makes me feel things and definitely would've been a Bi awakening for young me.

Short 8 dropped. It was fun with some great lines as usual :)
