ICE Thugs and the Immigration Crisis

Horrible. He was an ICU nurse, just 5 years younger than me, a peaceful constitutional observer, and legal to carry a gun. And, as mentioned, he was helping a woman who was being attacked when he was ganged up on.

This one has hit extra hard because of all the similarities. I plan to keep doing stuff tho

Walz activated the National Guard, presumably to 'defend' the Federal Whipple Building, but, hopefully, also to defend human life.
 
Time to hear about how the cosplay GI Joes involved are all being treated for life threatening injuries.

Even some of the usual online right wingers (Tim Pool, Asmongold and the like) are like "oh man, this is bad". This isn't going away soon.

These guys get practically no training before doing this job. I’d be curious to see what the shooter was doing before he joined ICE.

Saw the news about Bovino while in St Paul for a training for the class I was able to pick up this semester. I was super nervous about the drive (also took the highway I was rearended by a speeding semi last September) but glad I did. Hopefully the feds lean into that and pull back, out of Minneapolis and across the state. Noem really needs some consequences, too.

Before I went to campus first this morning this creepy thing happened while I was sitting in my car, letting it warm. A car pulled to a stop, on the road, along my still parked car, then moved ahead pulled over and parked ahead of me. Then another car came to a stop next to me. I could see other cars coming so that one drove off. The other car was still sitting there so, being a dipshit, I got out and walked over. Then that car left too. I'm sure there was some vanilla reason for it all but, still, just plain creepy.

They know the Pretti shooting is bad for them, so now it's "kinder softer" Trump lamenting that Pretti & Good were killed, this is not what he wants, blah blah. Bovino gone, but Homan in. Kristi Noem better stay away from buses because it sounds like it's only a matter of time before she's going to be thrown under one (deservedly so, obv). So I'd take any accounts of them backing off & becoming more controlled with a huge grain of salt. "Kinder, gentler, machine gun hand."

This admin (and DHS/ICE in particular) in no way whatsoever deserve the benefit of the doubt, but I'm out on the "Pretti was targeted" theory. And frankly, the left shouldn't be so keen to prop up a (in my opinion) conspiracy theory when the story as-is is extremely damaging.

(If this theory somehow turns out to be valid, feel free to dunk on me here)

There does seem to be a pattern of photographing, tracking, circulating info going on with the Feds. Another report holds that FBI celebrity Kash Patel has begun investigating/infiltrating various chats done by observers, protectors, etc. The Feds are tracking license plates, using facial recognition, and other tactics using state funds, equipment, and software.

Pretti may not have been targeted in a premeditated murder, but he was murdered. There's probably a normal explanation for my being boxed in by a series of cars a couple days ago, but it was very weird and unnerving. In any case, the Feds are doing those things mentioned above. It's done to try chilling our humanity, to instill suspicion and fear; maybe we'll stop doing what we're doing lest we be labeled a conspiracy crackpot. I've wondered if I'm a crackpot a lot the last few weeks. Then I remind myself that this stuff is actually happening. I think it's best to risk the crackpot label to be honest, aware, and safe as possible.

I wonder if they thought you were maybe ICE? You mentioned sitting in your car, and we know ICE is prone to "staking out" locations (like super scary school bus stops!), so maybe they thought that's what was going on?

They'll end up getting laughed out of court and hopefully sued but this kind of thing still has a chilling effect on free speech which is the ultimate goal.
 
Peggy Flanagan, current Lt Governor and candidate for senate up here, is being accused of using an alias on a Signal chat about observing, etc. The purpose is to paint her as a radical or whatever but, to me, (and hopefully most others), it confirms that the Feds are indeed spending money, time, and resources to identify, track, and etc peaceful protestors, observers, individuals and families.
