I kept up with the match through Twitter with clips, and gifs. I felt dirty watching what I saw. Conrad is going to sell seats to Ric’a funeral, and livestream the fucker.

It was fucking bad. At one point at the end, Andrade went to hot tag Ric in, but Ric was lying on the mat and had roll in under the bottom rope. Andrade then went to put brass knuckles on Ric almost lifeless body and Ric, while almost out cold, lying on the mat, "pinned" JJ with the Figure 4. It was pathetic, and Conrad should feel ashamed, if he had any sense of decency.

I feel like every now and then you need something to bring people back down to earth and realize that pro wrestling is carny bullshit.

They wheeled a 73 year old corpse out there and people paid to watch. This is why I love this business.

Didn't watch, but saw some clips on twitter. One thing I noticed is Jarrett doesn't really look that much different from 99 in terms of body. His face looks older, but for 55 he's in incredible shape.

NASHVILLE IS JARRETT COUNTRY!

Only complaint I have about his weekend is they should have commemorated the 20th Anniversary of Puppet pulling a gun on him by having Gresham point a gun at Daddy Jeff.

You of all people should be aware that a black dude pulling a gun on a white dude in Tennessee in front of many more white dudes would end poorly.

He's kept himself in incredible shape. He and Jay looked really good together, and Andrade is fantastic.

This whole match should have been the way they started with Ric and JJ. JJ tags out to Jay. Jay works a little with Ric who tags out to Andrade. He and Jay work 10-15 minutes with JJ tagging in to get the heat. Andrade tags in Ric, who hits some punches on JJ and Jay. Andrade and Jay fight on the outside while Flair and JJ do some work inside until Flair locks on the Figure 4. Instead we go some of the worst looking shit they could have given anyone. Flair with a hot tag while he's lying down. Andrade trying to put brass knuckles on the corpse of Ric and a Figure 4 pin where both JJ and Ric had their shoulder on the mat since Ric passed out.

I watched a Onita vs Sheik match from 92ish where Sheik is roughly the same age as Flair IIRC. He too was basically immobile. Sabu ran in to do the "work" (wrapping Onita in barbed wire). Onita then grabbed Sheik's leg with no prior attack on it and made him submit to a half crab in like 5 mins.

Now that he survived the match, are you gonna come to the meet & greet with Flair over here by the Mississsippi in October @BruiserBrody ?

Anything good on the undercard? Only thing I heard about was Bandido nearly dying during the lucha four way and being saved by Taurus' core strength.

I think they wasted a strong WrestleCon card on this. Nobody that went gave a hoot about Impact or AAA or MLW or ROH stuff. Some people didn't show up until the main event! They should've just done a bunch of nostalgia stuff and leaned into the JCP aspect.

The 4 way with Nick Wayne, Gresham, Takeshita, and Alan Angels was a fun 5 minute sprint. Yes, a match with those four got 5 minutes. The 4 way lucha match was great, and probably the match of the night. Josh Alexander and Fatu were having a great match until the awful finish. MCMG vs The American Wolves was a solid match that probably should have been much better with those involved. It felt like the 4 guys were just going through the motions to get the match over more than anything. Skip Kross vs Davey Boy. The women's 3 way was a match that happened. Nothing went longer than 15 minutes, with more matches going sub 10 minutes. I missed the NJPW match since I didn't know there was a pre-show. The Battle Royal was on the pre-show, too. That was awful. I like GCW, and it was cool to see them "invade" the show, but it was not worth the watch at all.

Yeah. My prevailing thought RE: undercard is if the matches were mostly going to be under 15 minutes and half paid attention to, why even bother booking IWC dream matches?

I mean for cripes sake, Jimmy Valiant is right there!

Sheik was 65-66 at that point. He wrestled Damian 666 when he was 68 at FMW's 6th anniversary show. The match lasted less than two minutes and Sheik had a heart attack the next day.

I would've liked to see Conrad try and work with him though.

Also looking at Taker at ringside, you have to figure he was sending AJ a text reiterating his appreciation for not letting him go out like a limp sack of shit.

And Bret and Foley absolutely had to be internally grinning at how sad Flair looked.

Ya know it is oddly fitting that none of Ric Flair's longtime friends were there at ringside afaik but they padded out ringside with two frienemies. Or just maybe outright enemy in Bret's case?

Not aware of any rl thing with Bret Hart (unless Bret said it was the greatest feud of all time and Flair himself told him so because lol). They both discounted how good their matches together were, imo. The Foley thing was in their books, I think, and they patched that up in time for a couple big garbage matches in 2006.

Only nice thing I've heard Bret say about Flair is he's really impressed with his cardio stamina (especially considering his reckless lifestyle). Bret has always just said he found Flair phony and duplicitous and how much he was disappointed by working with him. In his book, Bret really went out of his way to talk about how overrated he thought Flair was. Granted, I imagine they've made up somewhat in last 10 years on convention circuit but I still thought it was really odd to see him there.

As great as both guys are as workers, I don't think they'd make each other's top 10 opponent list.
