Details on the cool new shit in said multiplayer DLC

http://kotaku.com/5924980/take-a-look-at-mass-effect-3s-next-dlc

(Adept) N7 Fury: Throw, Annihilation Field, Dark Channel

(Soldier) N7 Destroyer: Multi-Frag Grenade, Missile Launcher, Devastator Mode, T5-V battlesuit?

(Engineer) N7 Demolisher: Homing Grenade, Arc Grenade, Supply Pylon

(Sentinel) N7 Paladin: Snap Freeze, Incinerate, Energy Drain

(Infiltrator) N7 Shadow: Tactical Cloak, Shadow Strike, Electric Slash

(Vanguard) N7 Slayer: Phase Disruptor, Biotic Charge, Biotic Slash, has a guddam sword *is Kai Leng I'm assuming*

Fury: "Fury operatives use implants to fuel biotics and their incredible
movement speed. These operatives wind an unpredictable path on the
battlefield, moving in and out of combat before returning to unleash a
sweeping biotic attack on their unsuspecting targets."

Destroyer: "The Destroyer's T5-V Battlesuit gives these strong-but-slow
soldiers mech-like protection. Driven by eezo-assisted actuators, these
frontline troopers carry heavy weapons onto the battlefield."

Demolisher: "The Demolisher uses grenades to attack at range and to
terrorize the battlefield. Demolishers can also create a supply pylon
that stocks allies with an unending reserve of grenades and thermal
reloads."

Paladin: "The Paladin carries a powerful omni-shield onto the
battlefield to block enemy fire. The Paladin also uses the shield as a
heavy-melee weapon that, when modified with incindiery or cryo upgrades,
creates a devastating combination attack."

Shadow: "Shadow infiltrators use implants to dramatically improve
agility, making them slippery combatants on the battlefield. Their
monomolecular blades are a menace from cover and close range."

Slayer: "Slayers use implants to dramatically improve mobility. Their
dizzying sword attacks can hit multiple opponents, and the Slayer's
ability to slip fire makes them hard to pin down on the battielfield."

They're all reskins/combos of existing character designs (recolored Phantom, Kai Leng with a helmet, etc.) but still look awesome. And the powers look ridiculous.

Platinum difficulty is also coming, and only one Bioware team has ever beaten it--and that was before they jacked up the difficulty. Ridic. I gotta say--4 months out from release, I didn't think I'd still be playing the multiplayer, and they've totally bought another few weeks of interest from me.

They should seriously think about expanding this with some competitive modes. If not as an add-on DLC for ME3, then definitely as a stand alone multiplayer title. I'd buy and play the fucking shit out if it every god damn day!

Cruising through Leviathan DLC, and it's pretty good. A little investigative work, some action, and even some new peripherals for weapons and at least one new weapon (shotgun). Looking forward to seeing how it finishes up.

Woah!

http://kotaku.com/5946590/mass-effect-trilogy-compilation-brings-the-first-mass-effect-to-playstation-3-this-fall

EA has announced All three Mass Effect games will be available for the price of one when EA releases the Mass Effect Trilogy compilation on November 6th, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PC. The collection marks the first time that the original Mass Effect—which was released as an Xbox 360 exclusive—will be playable on the PlayStation 3. According to EA's press release, the PS3 version will be out at a later date.

EA is also declaring November 7th as N7 Day and will be promoting BioWare's iconic sci-fi franchise with in-game and real world events. Head over to the official Mass Effect site for more information

EDIT: Apparently ME1 will be available as a stand-alone game on PSN as well. Nice!

I'll probably double-dip (and trade in my old ME2 & 3) if it turns out that this set has all of the DLCs included. If not I'll just opt for the stand-alone downloadable version of ME1. :)

Seems the DLCs may not be included (minus what was included with ME2). Fuck it, i dont care, im getting ME1 regardless. I hope this will result in the implementation of the missing storyline carryovers that ME2 was missing on the ps3.

The Mass Effect Trilogy includes all three games in the Mass Effect franchise, launching for Xbox 360 and PC on November 6 and at a later date for PS3, and it'll look something like that photo up there. The Trilogy will come with DLC as well, BioWare clarifies:

The PC version will get Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station for the first Mass Effect; Mass Effect 2 comes with the Cerberus Network, which includes Zaeed – The Price of Revenge, The Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, and Normandy Crash site mission. Mass Effect 3 includes the Online Pass with access to multiplayer.

Xbox 360 won't get Bring Down the Sky or Pinnacle Station on-disc, but both will be available as standalone DLC via Xbox Live. Mass Effect 2 gets the Cerberus Network and Mass Effect 3 the Online Pass.

Information about PS3 DLC is coming "soon." The original Mass Effect will launch as a digital standalone on PSN on the same day the Trilogy launches for PS3, for $15.

The Trilogy is compatible with other versions of the Mass Effect games, meaning players can transfer saves from previous games to the Trilogy games, and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is playable between versions. Considering the Trilogy is Mass Effect repackaged for the holiday rush, it'd be more surprising if the games were truly a separate beast and weren't compatible with previous releases.

There's still no sign of the Trilogy coming to Wii U, which gets Mass Effect 3 on launch day, November 18 in the US. The Wii U version includes the Extended Cut ending and the From Ashes DLC.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer gets free 'Retaliation' DLC next week

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/04/mass-effect-3-multiplayer-gets-free-retaliation-dlc-next-week/ said:
Mass Effect 3's multiplayer suite will be bolstered by a new enemy race and unlockables. The "Retaliation" DLC pack will be free to all Mass Effect 3 owners when it launches next week on October 9 – PS3 owners in Europe will have to wait an extra day, October 10.

Retaliation adds the Collectors as a new enemy faction to face off against and new unlockable kits: the Turian Havoc Soldier and Turian Ghost Infiltrator. You'll also be able to unlock new Collector weapons and outfit them with new upgrades, plus BioWare is adding new "hazard" versions of existing maps to Mass Effect 3's multiplayer – certain environmental dangers like sandstorms and lightning will now challenge players in addition to the enemy.

Finally, "Retaliation" adds a new challenge system to multiplayer, a database that chronicles your performance across multiplayer and awards "challenge points" for reaching certain milestones in multiplayer. Players can spend these "challenge points" on new titles and banners to customize their character profile.

Looks incredible. Unfortunately I sold it a few months ago but they added a lot of the stuff people were really asking for back when I was playing all the time and checking out the BioWare forums.

Got sucked back in to multiplayer with the new stuff tonight. Collectors are a tremendous addition to the game and feel totally different than any of the other factions; every enemy can be possessed by Harbinger and turned into a super-version of that beast. They also seem to spawn in a more distributed fashion and swarm more than the others. Oh, and VOLUS ADEPTS, MAN.

Joystiq said:
Mass Effect 3 DLC Omega is landing on November 27 and is priced at 1200 MSP or $15, if a video interview by Examiner's Beverly Lim Lee is accurate. The interviewee is apparently Mass Effect 3 Producer Mike Gamble, although he's introduced as "Mike, the producer of Mass 3 Effect Omega." According to the interview, the DLC is double the size of any previous Mass Effect 3 DLC, and lets players take on Aria, who is vying for control of the Omega space station.

The video was uploaded to Ms Lee's YouTube account, and was apparently taken at the New York Comic Con, a convention at which EA BioWare is certainly in attendance and showing off Omega concept art.

We've reached out EA BioWare for confirmation of these details and further information.

Finally promoted a class in MP. The multiplayer has some surprising staying power since there are SO many characters and weapons to unlock.

Giant Bomb featured the Leviathan DLC in their GOTY video today. That it wasn't in the final game is either because EA forced them to hold it for DLC or they did the whole thing as a response to the ending backlash because the revelations about the Reapers and the whole reason they exist are something everyone needed to see for everything to make sense. Making people pay $5 extra for it is absolutely stupid.

Well I didn't play any of the single player DLC so what is the reason the Reapers exist?

They are basically the race that created the Catalyst (which created the Reapers in Levaithan's image). They look exactly like Reapers, but are organic beings. They stay out of the war, hidden, to survive.. but you can convince them to join the fight in the end. It only adds to your galactic readiness as far as I know. I should play through the ending again to see if it adds any scenes, though.

Just finished the game today, without the DLC ending because I wanted to see what all the outrage was about first, so I haven't played the extended one yet. I didn't really mind the choose your own adventure book ending. The actual ending choices? Heartbreaking, but understandable and ok. What you actually get? NERD RAGE. I'm assuming/hoping the extended DLC is a lot better, because Jesus that was bad.

Overall I LOVED the game, and outside of the ending my complaints are minor. Not being able to see quest status or anything useful about a quest in the quest log is annoying. The scanning room on the Normandy that I assume is there for loading time purposes boggles my mind, since it's not like it's in a big area. My only non minor non ending complaint is the online bullshit. I'm not bashing the multiplayer mode, I haven't played it. I assume it's great. What I'm pissy about is that you have to play it (or get an iOS app, if you don't have an iOS device the only app on Android costs money) to improve your readiness, and without DLC (and before the ending changing DLC) there aren't enough war assets to get the 'best' ending at the default 50% readiness. Total bullshit.

If you do EVERYTHING in the game the multiplayer effect on readiness won't matter that much.

That was also one of the bioware forums main gripes. Forcing multiplayer and Dlc onto a single player game to achieve the erm... best? ending.

I finished ME1 last night and thankfully got to lvl 50 on the first play through. Ill use that and start an insanity run in me2 to try and get platinum as its the only trophy I don't have in that game.

Coming up on the 1-year mark, which means I'll buy all the single-player DLC and do my renegade playthrough. I did that with both of the previous games, and it was almost as good as the first time through.
